Same treatment? He won all his $hit from Survivor Series 2011 until he had that draw with Cena at Summerslam 2012 or the month before. They had him behind Cena on main events on PPV but he was booked as the #2 guy without question and was going over any and everyone on the roster. Put him over hot heel Bryan and had him stop Ryback's streak for no reason and in the gayest way possible in that stupid HIAC finish.Nah, Punk got that same treatment Ambrose did.
He had to lay down for HHH, Taker, Lesnar, & Rock. Imagine how strong of a champ he would've been had he beat them
CM Punk was always gonna be alright. His mic ability is too strong and fans would always get into him no matter what. The wins and losses didn't really matter..him being political and trying to shoehorn into the top main events of 2013 were telling though. In that interview, he said he was that hurt and should of been off the road but kept going because he thought he could get into the WM main event...lol. Insane. Either you know how Vince McMahon thinks or you don't. You don't play your health over trying to impress that nutcase.Love Bret but hes a mad man. Need to get his names right at least, shyt. Also, far as NXT, its one of the best things that HHH is involved in. Bret gotta chill.
I think Punk not actually main eventing some of the PPVs as champ is what made him look weak. That and the thin roster he was up against year round. Once he became heel it was even worse because he became a coward champ.
Dont think he needed to get wins over those guys to look strong.
He started off pretty over and big. I do think he should have beaten HHH since he was red hot at that time.
You have no idea what you're talking about. No they didn't. Go look at the data. As a TV/PPV draw, Bryan didn't move the needle, and in fact did LESS. This is not me shytting on Bryan or anything. It's just the way shyt worked out. You would have thought he would have been actually drawing since he was so wildly popular, but for whatever reason, that's not always an indicator of drawing ability in modern wrestling.
Punk had legitimate mainstream crossover and popularity and also didn't move the needle, even though he sold a ton of merch.
He definitely did have business being pushed that hard seeing how his pipebomb set the wrestling world on fire.Same treatment? He stayed down for the real draws in 2013. Which made sense considering he had all time horrible numbers as champion. Really had no business being pushed that hard in 2012 in the first place. And it made no sense for him to lose to Cripple H but if he had a backbone, he wouldn't have went for that.
