some what true but bruh' we really need to stop tearing each other down and be the change or at least attempt to be the change you want to see

Oh no doubt I try to live what I believe, I just see the world economy changing so fast and I think we falling behind despite more college graduates and blacks in the so called middle class...we gotta invest more in us

chocolate city:wow:

Not for long.

i'm going back in a year or two. prolly settle down in MoCo or Bowie.

Sad to say PG is gonna go so far downhill in the next decade.

My parents just moved to Charles county and its crazy you see a lot of people from DC moving out there too cuz its so cheap.

The city will prosper but alot of other places wont

I think that "tearing each other down" is half of being the change. You have to talk about it and you also have to be about it. I think that is the problem in the black community. We've lost the ability to check each other. Criticism does not make you a hater. I'm glad that we can have discourse like this amongst our peers, but we should not feel guilty or take it easy on those who see doing the wrong things. I think that if we who know better and do better spoke more about it, that would create more change than not saying anything and allowing others to continue the same vicious cycle of good jobs without reinvesting in our community.

We eating real good here in the DMV. Reston is where I call my home. First planned community = no power outages because all telephone and electricity lines are underground. It was planned that way brehs.

The Subways on NYC ain't nothing special. Nothing like Metro North or LIRR.

So you need to get into consulting eh? What about k street? Lobbying, are we good there too?
That's where I'm trying to get to. Also looking at getting the hell up out of here as well. Moving here almost 3 yrs ago, I had big dreams but living in NoVa squashed all of that. Realizing now that I should've moved to MD from the jump (money would've stretched a bit longer). I'm at the far end of Fairfax county, damn near Loudon county, but it's worth it to a certain extent. I know I would've never made the contacts I've made if I never moved here but it's a town that ain't for everybody. I've seen cats move here and get caught up in the aura of the city and damn near broke trying to keep up appearances. Like mentioned before, IT, govt contracting, etc are the gigs to have. I know a few brothas that work on K St but they aren't happy there even tho they're making beaucoup bucks
