So I haven't sampled Wulong Cha yet.
And I'm browsing Fragrancenet, and yo....they got 1.6oz of Wulong Cha for $63. Shiiiiyeeeet, I'll blind buy it for that price! :gladbron:

Upon further review: It's the goddamn hair perfume.

SOTD - JPG Le Beau Paradise Garden

  • Coconut Water
  • Green Fig
  • Sandalwood
Probably one of the best note listings i've ever seen. Totally on point with what I smell.

If you've rocked with Le Beau that's what you're getting.

I'd have to put them on side by side to detect anything different.

I might do that.

I wound up buying Papilefiko this week because I decided that...between that and Desirtoxic, Papilefiko fits my vibe a bit better.
So I'll give Wulong Cha a look in a little bit.

People seem to really like it though

No disrespect -- while you're in this thread...click on the Search button in the upper right corner...and instead of "Everywhere" select "This Thread" and search Summer.
@WIA20XX must have given like 50 summer fragrance recommendations over the past year or 2.

Got another backup bottle.

This a new favorite. Despite the notes, this is mad powdery/soapy smelling. This something I could see myself wearing everyday. I actually don't smell any of the fruit notes.

Eau de Passion Intense Franck Olivier

A lot of people compare it to Parfums De Marly Percival and Chanel Platinum Egoiste on Fragrantica.
I never smelled the Chanel and it's been a long time since I smelled Percival but I don't remember it being powdery.

House of Guerlain.
Had a good bottle in like 2000.

Guerlain L'art & La Matiere.
New 4 bottle collection.

Anyone familiar with these?
I want to try but I avoid Unisex fragrances.
They have a lot of stuff.

50ml Bottle is $630.00 :merchant:

You can definitely smell the sharp opening with the blend of orange/citrus notes--you can't miss it. The ginger itself is somewhat faint. It doesn't stay there though. It morphs into a watery/aromatic like scent with the marine note & type of sage used. As the missus puts it, I smell like a "nice day by the beach". It's pleasant though is the best way that I can put it. The wood & things come in at the end batting clean up to make it a full experience. I'm not mad at this one at all.

Rankings have to be recalibrated again but I could see it sliding in the top 3 in the LV standings possibly :ehh:

We talked about Cherry Oud and Tobacco Honey in the thread.

High level perfumery for sure, but like everything else the high price and quality don't mean that you're gonna love them.

To add onto the comment above,

There's also this subtext among some snobs (especially niche snobs) that if a fragrance is not complex, it's not good.
Something can have every note in the world in it, but that doesn't mean it's better than another fragrance with 4 notes.

Egg, cheese and ham makes a fine omelet. You can add caviar and lobster to it, and sure, it's really fancy and high end...but I'm probably not going to eat it.
