I’m 20. Looking to up my cologne game, where do I start?

Since you're 20, you probably tryna holla at chicks, so a little cologne will smooth out the rough edges.

Rule #1 - Never buy a full bottle of anything cause somebody online (myself included) hyped it up.
Rule #2 - Always buy a sample, also known as a decant

Optional rules
Rule #3 - Never buy full retail if you can help it. Most fragrances can be copped at discounters.
Rule #4 - Never buy the biggest bottle. It took me 7 years to finish a 30 ml bottle. If I had bought the 100 ml, it would have been 21 years.
Rule #5 - Never buy something because it's cheap.

In 2022 - the baseline price for 100 ml bottle is about 100 bucks.

Here are some super popular joints that aren't super expensive.

Versace - for whatever reason, they seem to price their stuff more affordably than everyone else
  • Eros - Mint and Apple
  • Dylan Blue - Shower Gel - woodsy
  • Eau Fraiche - Shower Gel - citrusy (You can find this at Marshall's, Ross, TJ Maxx)
  • Pour Homme - Shower Gel - but (See Eau Fraiche)
Paco Rabanne
  • Invictus - Bubble Gum
  • One Million - Bubble Gum
Dolce and Gabanna
  • The One - EDP - sweet, laid back tobacco (very laid back) - good for close encounters
  • Light Blue Eau Intense - citrusy (too citrusy to me)
You want to spend a bit more money? Summer intern checks coming in? Brick?
  • Bleu de Chanel - the EDP version or Dior Sauvage - EDT or EDP - they smell like shower gel, just more elegant.
  • Y by YSL - It's like Bleu De Chanel and Sauvage - same DNA + apple
  • Spicebomb Extreme - Nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, mace, Vanilla, Tobacco
  • Acqua di Gio and Acqua di Gio Profondo - The first one is the best selling cologne of all time. It will have you smelling like Gen X though. (same with Issey Miyake, JGP Le Male) The 2nd one takes the same concept and flips a bit. Both smell good though
Most of the samples for these can be found at "Decant X".

But if you're ever looking for something, use google the name of the fragrance - "name of fragrance" "decant" - and you'll find 5-10 different places selling them.

I'm a lil older than breh you quoted but this is a great guide for newbies like myself. Thank you.

Huge sale on Jomashop for Parfums De Marley fragrances bruhs and ladies!!!!
I want to sample Mancera Cedrat Boise

If it was cheaper I would do a blind buy but only 17% off sale on jomashop

Edit - the Baccarat Rouge 540 is only 17% off. I need those Baccarat rouge reviews brehs. Let’s go.

The mancera is actually 56% off. I got confused.

I ordered like 7 samples the other day. I should get them this weekend or Monday.

Did it from Scent Split. I’ve heard of other websites. Are those better?

Is it worth looking for a scent that matches well with your natural body odor? If so how do you find that?
