LaMelo in Golden State would be great. Steph doesn't need the ball, Klay doesn't need the ball, they'd be integrating another player that can run an offense who is a great passer and playmaker in general. Players who struggle within Golden State's system are players who don't instinctively make right basketball players, Melo wouldn't have that problem.

Steph plays great off ball and GS is at their best in the half court when Draymond is at the top of the key searching for Steph off screens.

LaMelo would be great on GS.

Exactly.

If Wiseman was like, let's say Mobley, I'd give that pick an A.

If they would have drafted LaMelo, it would have been perfect and caused no issues at all, as all of their guards and wings play very well off the ball.

Steve Kerr hates Lavar Ball so they were never drafting Lamelo

I don't get this sentiment. They would of have gotten a young center with a few years under his belt that is a good screener who probably would have meshed well with the veterans of Golden State. And with the 4th Pick they could have taken any of the wings available at 4. For the sake of this discussion, I'll just say Pat Williams.

WCJ and Williams is better for Golden State last year and moving forward than Wiseman is. Then coming into this draft, they could have moved picks if they wanted to instead of drafting 2 more rookies.

Swinging for the fences IMO last year would have been taking Melo 2nd not Wiseman.
They probably woulda took Avdija at 4, but anyway,

Talent isn’t really Wendell Carter’s problem. Staying healthy is. Maybe they didn’t trust him holding up (and I don’t know if they woulda rushed to pay him either.)
I think with the 2nd pick they wanted more.

Unfortunately the first pick wouldn’t have fetched anything, let alone their pick and if they wanted something major, attaching Wiggins woulda messed up the value of the pick. Even this year, they woulda loved to get something big for 7 and 14 but the pool of available vet talents wasn't out there.

LaMelo woulda been fun, but guard play is not gonna be their undoing.

HE WAS THE STARTING POWER FORWARD LAST YEAR

BUT I WOULDNT BE OPPOSED TO BRINGING HIM OFF THE BENCH

and how'd that turn out?

and nobody is paying someone that kind of money to do what their veteran minimum teammates can do. It's a gross allocation of funds when the bigs are still weak.

I'm not saying it doesn't make basketball sense. I'm saying no team is gonna do that. Just not happening, especially with a gaping ass hole in the starting lineup that hasn't been addressed.
