Marks kicks it off saying 2 GMs hit him up asking what picks were involved in this trade

Chicago is about to rebuild. Why extend a 30 yr old role player for $20mil+ , he good at his role but still.
Giddey is only 21 with upside/potential and they have a couple more years to evaluate him before a extension decision needs to be made
Trade makes sense for both teams imo

which is why you get some picks to go with Giddey. and giddey is extension eligible right now.

How confident are you in AK drafting someone later in the draft who is better than Giddey?
I think the more prudent point here tho is that the player they could have drafted would be under team control on a affordable contract for 4 years at least. This here now sets the team.up to have to pay him after only 1 season.

Draft picks are question marks.
So is just Giddey. You have to honestly think about why a young contending team would willingly give up their 21 year old starter who they just drafted a few season ago for a guy 8 years old with severe injury concerns. What does that tell you about how they felt his development was going or projected to go....mind you they know him best

Who was ever been talking about extending Caruso :mjlol: the idea was to trade him for picks that will be on team friendly deals for several seasons not for a guy that is a free agent next summer

giddy is a shot creator. Caruso would go through whole games without looking at the basket.

I bet giddy balls out in Chicago

Fair and it's something everyone wanted the Bulls to do for a while but they haven't.

If they're finally ready to tear it down, Giddey's salary isn't gonna be a deterrent. If they get him at a decent contract, great. If not, in a year or two the Bulls will be financially able to do whatever.
