The faux outrage over this decision is being drum up by blue state liberal elites who are mad they can't federally mandate the rest of the country to do what they want..
When Republicans take over Congress you don't think they're going to pass into law an abortion ban?

By Thursday, however, McConnell was apparently willing to say the quiet part out loud. Asked by USA Today whether a national ban “is something worthy of a debate,” the top Senate Republican said Republicans might indeed entertain the idea, according to the interview, which was published on Saturday. “If the leaked opinion became the final opinion, legislative bodies—not only at the state level but at the federal level—certainly could legislate in that area,” McConnell said. "And if this were the final decision, that was the point that it should be resolved one way or another in the legislative process. So yeah, it’s possible.”

Maybe. You could also argue that Thurgood should have chanced it and stayed on the court until death. Thurgood died 4 days after Clinton took office. Say he died as a Supreme Court justice right after Clinton won between November to January. There's no way Biden (chairman of the Senate Judiciary committee at the time) would have let Bush replace him.
Yeah but I was more talking about the fact that Bush 41 could have chosen anyone else besides Thomas. Bush 41's other SC pick (David Souter) was good. Clarence Thomas is the fukking worst and he replaced an icon.

You saying Obama didn't come into office with a super majority?
Supermajority of conservadems. Senators like Joe Lieberman, Ben Nelson, Byron Dorgan, Max Baucus, Tim Johnson, Jim Webb, Jay Rockefeller, etc were moderate/conservative Democrats (most of whom are NOT pro-choice).

Also, Dems only had a filibuster-proof majority for 2 months from Jan. 2009 to Jan. 2011. In those 2 months, they passed Obamacare.

You saying Obama didn't come into office with a super majority?

A supermajority of seated democrats who had the ability to cast votes. No he did not.

He had an extremely limited amount of time with 60 votes due to health issues, republican foolishness in MN, and people like Joe Lieberman. They literally brought somoene in on their deathbed to vote in Obamacare.

Know your history.

So if you know that much, you know the Dems didnt actually have a supermajority they could use to their advantage. Dont know if you conveniently leaving out the Al Franken BS as well. Long story short stop spreading bullshyt.

You asked when they had a supermajority. That's when they had a supermajority. Al Franken situation came much later after that.

Just because they fumbled the ball early and had an key player have an unexpected injury, doesn't mean they weren't in the position to win.

They could have abolished the filibuster then and passed all the laws they wanted. They didn't. They chose to put health care as their top priority and didn't have a plan on day 1 to pass it.

Take your own advice and stop talking out your ass.

There is thousands of kids that are without a home/family right now that are up for adoption. How many of these pro-lifers are adopting kids since they care about them so much? I will answer that for you, it is less than 5%. They don't really give a shyt about children at all, they just don't like the idea of abortion. Who cares if the child grows up in a harsh and grueling enviornment, none of that matters to them at all.

This is it. Makes no sense at all to want, unwanted children to be born into society to bad parents or being left to the foster system. It’s disgusting.

:yeshrug: I'm not a liberal white woman, I don't give a fukk.

What ACTUALLY need to focus on is the Supreme Court potentially coming for OUR civil rights. Worry about OUR issues before you worry about liberal white Karen problems.

They're using that ruling as the precedent to take your civil rights. So in a way, you should care. Even if it doesn't directly affect you.

Plus this ruling affects black men and women too.
