guns are absolutely the fukking issue and anyone saying differrent is deluded.

America was built on the idea that guns solve problems. That core idea settled into the core of American individualism. Its why even in countries that have diversity, gun violence is far less of an issue.

In a lot of ways the issue wit guns is the Batman conundrum.

The Batman conundrum is "Batman has a deterring effect on crime and can save lives BUT his existence inspires villains who exist solely TO CHALLENGE Batman".

Same principle with guns.

The sheer number of guns in America and our cultural affinity means that many criminals/mass shooters will up the ante BECAUSE of the existence of gun, even if a decent amount of criminals are deterred. No amount of arming the populace can prepare people for sneak attacks in day to day life.

Criminals dont pull guns out their ass. They get them from the same sources we do. If you reduce the overall pool of firearms available, you lessen the amount of guns criminals have access to. Any other solution is dancing around the problem.

People are desensitized to images and videos at this point. Particularly after the covid lockdowns and decreased socialization

It's almost like people dont think sprained ankles can happen to them until they sprain their own ankle

1. Atheist / Agnostic
2. Abusive families
3. Neglect
4. Bullying

The answer isn't to let these things continue and ban guns. The answer is to address these issues with more outreach programs and maybe even mandatory parenting programs for people under the age of 25.

Obviously more grounded reality based scriptures would help.
