All weapons are 'weapons of war'. Soldiers get pistols to carry into combat as well. Should we be barred from buying Sigs and be limited to revolvers?
Getting shot by a pistol will kill you just the same as a rifle. Average citizens can't buy 'assault rifles' since an assault rifle is automatic. In fact, much more violence occurs with pistols than rifles.

A handgun isn't engineered to inflict maximum infantry damage and eliminate a massive amount of human targets in a short amount of time the way that a high powered assault rifle is. We're talking about mass shootings here, not "general overall criminal gun violence" or whatever the fxck.

It’s been mentioned before but as grotesque as it sounds I guarantee images of the aftermath would shift this conversation with the quickness. These particular guns serve no purpose other than to swiftly decimate and destroy their targets. I'm tempted to post a video I saw of someone testing an AR 15 out on objects meant to simulate a human flesh but it feels inappropriate for the thread.
