Yeah the reason was Bron didn't know Spo like that and Bron wanted play for Riles cause he loves history and wanted to play for the man that coached the Showtime Lakers

Spo is basically an avatar of Riley

Everything he does is Riley from a coaching perspective

Back when the coaches wore suits he even stood on the sidelines like Riles with his jacket unbuttoned and his hands on his sides :russ:

Spo is Pat Riley in a new body like how Megatron (Riles) got a new body from Unicron and became Galvatron (Spo)
Wade said Pat be making us run suicides like slaves relax b :russ:

Jimmy when the mother of some of his children ask for more money:
We were never married. What you're getting is enough. Just because we were together for a little doesn't mean I have to fund your lifestyle forever.

Pat Riley when Jimmy asks for more money:
What you're getting is the contract you signed. Just because you have played well in the past doesn't entitle you to money in the future.

Jimmy:

exactly.

take the best deal.

no rebuilding team is gonna give you a bunch of picks either.

this shyt is past goofy.
We don't know what the best deal actually is though. What if teams are wanting to only give Miami bad long term contracts? Outside of Phoenix who is even really willing to trade for him and deal with the headache. The same people saying Miami deserves it and they knew what they were getting with Jimmy are the same ones saying trade him as if other teams are lining up to deal with Jimmy.

but that's what I'm saying. you're probably not get ideal deals for Jimmy, especially with his age and injury history. But get something, even if it's some 2nd rounders. You not Danny Ainge fleecing nikkaz no more.

Is Riles counting on Jimmy opting out and seeing that the market ain't what he thinks it is and comes back to the Heat?

Well of course its harder now...because of their own mismanagement. The longer this goes the less value he has and less leverage they have AND the more likely it becomes that they go through the same exact thing last year. It was insane to go into this season with him on the roster after they decided not to extend him.

Playoff teams like Memphis and Milwaukee were named. Toronto, Brooklyn, the bottom teams - all willing to facilitate and take on bad contracts to get the deal done.

Part of the issue is that Jimmy has a lot of leverage here. He has a Player Option on his final year, which means he can signal to teams to sign him with an extension or eat 52 mil next year and watch him walk. Miami is having trouble getting a deal done partly because everyone know this. Outside of being a Free Agent or having a No Trade Clause, this is one of the best spots to be in as a player.

Hence, why everyone is putting blame on the Heat for coming into the season with Jimmy not extended after Riley bad mouthed him last summer. Jimmy is a dikk but he's a known dikk. Why would you put him in a situation where you know he will act up?

Assuming they woulda shopped him this summer, this was a cold market. There's some players we all thought were gonna get moved but didn't go anywhere because teams are worried about giving those players extensions. Other than maybe Golden State, I don't know the team that woulda been open to acquiring him in the summer that's now backing away. Going forward, unless you're just reckless or desperate, teams are gonna be a little more selective on who gets max extensions, let alone super max ones. Now a big chunk of the league is hard capped or up in aprons.
