Don't bring logic and reality to the thread. Let everybody believe that baseball is easy money as soon as they give up the other sports
It's hard to make into any professional sport, really. If you have the means though and your kid seems like they have the talent and chops, nothing wrong with putting them in baseball

Look at Soto, at least SD was smart enough to get sommmmething for him...the fact that LAA sat on their hands trying to cash in on merch and shyt instead of prioritizing next steps is an indictment of that organizations competence and probably why he's leaving to begin with. Just embarrassingly bad asset management... You have arguably one of the greatest baseball talents ever in his prime walk out your door and you get..... Nothing? Insane :picard:
Soto got dealt cuz outside shyt happened and they couldn’t afford him anymore. If not for that, they keep him, but that situation lowered his value.

Ohtani wasn’t gonna end well either way, especially it was an open secret that the Dodgers were gonna get him (didn’t help that everyone who could potentially re-sign him was out of the race except the Dodgers). Once he wasn’t dealt last season, the writing was on the wall. At least Ohtani made the decision to leave. Trout kinda gave Arte false hope that Ohtani would be just like him.

It doesn't really matter why... the point is he didn't walk out their door for nothing.. Ohtani did and that's unacceptable

More incompetence, that franchise is terrible.

He did the right thing. This is what Trout should have done when he was about to become a free agent. (Test the market)

There has to be some incentives thou can’t be just 700 regardless…has to be if he pitches a certain amount of innings or something…this looks so damn crazy
