They were hoping he would've taken the hometown discount. Well half of that came true. He did take the hometown. But didn't give the discount.Angels should have traded him last year. Just a dumb ass organization.
You know Ohtani slanging though
Fireable incompetenceThey were hoping he would've taken the hometown discount. Well half of that came true. He did take the hometown. But didn't give the discount.
Don't bring logic and reality to the thread. Let everybody believe that baseball is easy money as soon as they give up the other sportsYou actually have to make the league first. MLB money is crazy but going through the minor leagues ain’t for the weak.
before the season? Perhaps. Two seasons ago? Absolutely.Angels should have traded him last year. Just a dumb ass organization.
I'm watching baseball right now, and it's full of dudes who hope that hitting .375 will get them a spring training invite.Don't bring logic and reality to the thread. Let everybody believe that baseball is easy money as soon as they give up the other sports
Look at Soto, at least SD was smart enough to get sommmmething for him...the fact that LAA sat on their hands trying to cash in on merch and shyt instead of prioritizing next steps is an indictment of that organizations competence and probably why he's leaving to begin with. Just embarrassingly bad asset management... You have arguably one of the greatest baseball talents ever in his prime walk out your door and you get..... Nothing? Insanebefore the season? Perhaps. Two seasons ago? Absolutely.
Last season? The issue they ran into was that they played their best ball right around the trade deadline and had a shot at the last WC, so they started going after pitchers and hitters to make one more run (and that being how they keep him around)
The problem was that Lucas Giolito goes to LA and proceeds to have a 6.89 ERA, Trout gets hurt again and submarines everything.
I could go on for why they've failed during his time there, but ultimately signing Ohtani was the one move they made that actually worked. Trout got his deal and started breaking down physically. Jo Adell was their big blue chip prospect and he looks like a AAAA player. They spent big on Rendon fresh off a WS and he has become the worst contract in baseball.
This would be like if Patrick Mahomes was a Jet.
You can not make a decent living in the minor leagues. You don’t have a damn clue of what you talking about. Minor league ball clubs barely have money to pay for motelsBut at least there's the minor leagues where you can make a good living until you make the bigs and the elite athletes ain't gonna be in the minors too long. Imo professional baseball is more practical as a young athlete than the other two major American sports and the upside is fukking incredible. Brothas need to get back into baseball.
nikkas really wanted Kyler to pick baseball and play in the trash ass minor league system and eat poverty sandwiches every night
Minor leaguers just now getting housing after all these years. Folks just don’t realize how tough it is in the minors. Picking Baseball over another sport ain’t always the easiest decision
These the stories barely anybody talk about when it comes to baseball. This man was the #1 overall pick and it took him almost a decade to make the league. You gotta be built different to play Minor league

For years whenever baseball deals come up, I've always shyt on Mike Trout for doing the owners a favor and not hitting the open market. He should have got ~$500m and opened the market up. Shohei wasn't going out like a sucker.
Trout doing what he did fukked up the money for dudes like Harper, Machado, and had salaries basically stalling out.
