He's basically right. Imagine if JJ Watt was a Dak-level quarterback and did both in the same game.

Watt lowkey could’ve did something like that but at TE. He could’ve been a TE and DE and been effective in the NFL

Maybe. What he did in goalline is impressive, but we never saw him running actual routes in the open field, creating separation, catching balls with zip on them from different angles, etc. He might have been a passable tight end but there's no evidence he'd be a great one.

Ohtani can go in as a starting pitcher AND as a cleanup batter and perform among the very best in the league at both.

There has to be some incentives thou can’t be just 700 regardless…has to be if he pitches a certain amount of innings or something…this looks so damn crazy
Look at it like this, that ROI's completely different to any deal in any sport ever lol. Best player, in his prime, icon to another continent of people. All that's in the 700, you can't think of another athlete bringing that much with him because it's never happened & it'll be generations if it's gonna happen again. Closest I can think would've been Bron leaving for China instead of Miami in 2010

Even if he came back only 85% the pitcher he was the deal is still worth it. 700's still 700, most of it is deferred, they've got decades to pay that. On the flip side, Dodgers just added billions in valuation in one day before a game & got another couple hundred mil coming for being Ohtani's first postseason team. New Dodgers fans in Japan, Korea, China etc, new TV deals in those countries, ticket prices up wild now, no team's getting more games on ESPN/TBS next year

This ain't the Angels, it's the Dodgers. Ohtani on the Dodgers is a print machine on a print machine. The deal's paid for in full 2-3 years max

MLB need to restart that MLB/NPB all-star series they used to do over in Japan. They'd be selling out the Tokyo Dome every night.
