Gruden is a terrible coach for college, he is not a developer or teacher, he is a ego maniac so I doubt he would be great at developing or maintaining a staff, seeing that he couldn't do that at Tampa. Offensively the game has passed him by in the NFL, let alone the college level, he isn't a recruiter, I doubt he would have good relationships with boosters. I just see no benefit of him, paying him 10 mil when you have to pay Butch Jones 8 mil when he has proven nothing at the college level.

There are better college level coaches they could poach than going after him.

Agreed and I would go after Mullen or Frost if im them and Chip too if we pass on him. I like Chad Morris but think he's A&M bound.

Tenn like us, the fans that is, want a splash hire after two non descript coaching hires soni can see why they gassin themselves up over Gruden. It was tough tryna trick myself that we landed a lick with Muschamp and McElwain but i damn sure tried
