Nah. The source on this story is a big-time booster who is connected and predicted what would happen last night a day earlier.Think Urban Meyer 2011. Remember how a story came out in November 17, 2011 saying Urban Meyer would be the Ohio State head coach. Both Urban and Ohio State denied the reports. Then 2 weeks later after the regular season ended, he was announced as the new Ohio State coach.
This is basically what happened here. Gruden agreed last night to be the new Tennessee head coach. The contract was signed. But nothing will be made public until after the season. So roughly 10 more days of these rumors before it becomes official.
Because its true. And it involves the biggest hire in college football history.
Once Jon Gruden is announced the new head coach of the University of Tennessee football team, it'll change college football.

Right now there is disagreement about when an announcement will be made. Some people think 11/20 (Monday after the LSU game) while other are saying 11/26 (Sunday after the last game).
I'm willing to bet we make the announcement on Sudan 11/26 right before the Playoff teams are announced. It would allow for the most media exposure. Hell it might even upstage the reveal of the final 4.

Respected media outlets are reporting Tennessee has offered Jon Gruden a contract worth rougly $10 mil/yr and that he is actively putting together a staff. He's reached out to other coaches. And the Tennessee Athletic Director was in Tampa last night meeting with him. This is all VERIFIED NEWS.
What I'm adding to these reports that no one is officially reporting yet (because its not gonna be made official for another 4-10 days) is the fact Gruden agreed to the contract. This won't be OFFICIALLY reported anytime soon because an announcement will not be made most likely until the end of the season. Like I said in an earlier post, this is basically Meyer to Ohio State in 2011 all over again. Meyer agreed to be the Ohio State head coach 2 weeks before it was formally announced. A media outlet reported it early and the report was denied by the AD and Meyer. Then 2 weeks later they officially announced it at a press conference.
Expect the same thing to happen here. If I had to guess, the press conference will happen November 26, 2017. The Sunday after the last game against Vandy. They'll probably announce it before the Playoff Selection Committee comes out with their final rankings for maximum media exposure.
