the NBA has a deal with Nike

ask them to pony up (and they would)

And the NBA subsidizes the WNBA at a loss, and have for 20 years. Academies do not cost that much to run.

The WNBA:mjlol:, nba acadamies would def cost way more than that; and it's not if they can't afford it, but is the costs worth investing for.

Nike, addidas, UA financing makes sense:ehh: They already half way there anyway, and NBA wouldn't have to pony up. The universities might not like it.

people watch college sports for coaches and the schools. Not hte players.

And this is not an AAU. This is not travel sports. This is NBA teams running something akin to a boarding school.

The G-League is basically the academy model without the academics anyways. Players dorm together, you have 10 guys on a team getting individual attention all year. The high school guys that have made the leap through the D-League haven't had the greatest careers though. Latavious Williams ended up being a Euroleague vet, and Aquille Carr plays in PR now. I don't know if they'll ever attract the elite high school players unless they pay those guys a lot of money.

Duke really is untouchable breh..

Reddish was having meetings with Rich Paul and LeBron and nothing has come out of that.

The product of the game is hurting, even Adam Sliver went on record saying this as well as scouts and management. What the hell are you talking about. Scouting the NCAA isn't free.

:gucci: Hurting compared to when? Hell is you ranting about.

They don't get paid but we pay. Smart man type shyt. If you notice, you haven't seen a single new Duke nikka struggling. The alumni based don't got to pay cash when you can pay in power. We doing shyt the NBA just started doing

I sure hope by ECU signing with Adidas that we about to start trying to cheat our way to some damn recruits. That's gotta be in the Adidas pitch right???????

Yeah you're either a fan or completely irrational
Calipari runs a tight ship at Kentucky. Why do you think Slice had to go to st John's, calipari did not like some of his recruiting tactics so he let him go. Believe what you want about Cal but at UK he does not fukk around and people at the athletics department have said they are an open book and they know that they're clean. The atmosphere there was described as carefree. And Cal is not in the least bit concerned. Again if everyone in here is so confident then take me up on a ban bet.

and this is why you won't get that other demographic to tune into a minor league system...... the crowd that they rather watch college than the NBA :mjpls:

You will have to be a true fan of basketball to consistently watch lower quality play in the G League...... college ball is viewed because of the storylines and the social value it has... you take that away, and the overwhelming majority of viewers stop watching....
Breh, its not about tuning in for TV. ITs about developing NBA players who come into the league ready to beast.

its not like an academy model because players come in at 18 or older.

Also the best teachers of the game are not in the G League.

Ohhh.... You just thinking about the quality of the product..... Of course what you're proposing makes the most sense.... in a more ethical country that is...... but sports is about revenue.... and none will be sacrificed for the greater good of the product.... that's all I'm saying...

i kinda agree, except the quality of play is related to revenue.

I don't really think academies would work what well for bball. Most of the world (hyperbole) sees soccer as the national sport.

And If you get academies then say goodbye to the draft
