Im not hating on Floyd himself though breh, I'm ALWAYS saying that the best "names" Floyd fought were all outta their primes.
Only good ones he fought, while they were still at their bests was Corrales, Hatton, and Canelo. None of them were A fighters though
Hatton was definitely elite breh. Just at 140 and not at 147 where Floyd fought him. Corrales actually had better wins after he beat Floyd so I wouldn't say he was at his best, but he was definitely in his prime when he faced Money. I'd say he was a notch below Elite though. He doesn't have that Tszyu type victory that Ricky had before he fought Floyd. Canelo is still a question mark. He can very well lose to Lara and fall into Boliva afterwards for all we know and it's not like he ain't struggle with Trout and barely win that one.
Other than that I pretty much agree with everything you've been saying in this thread. Article seemed kinda mean spirited though. Ottke really was the only one who deserved the most Ether, but instead everybody got it.
Cotto was prime at 147 though and got his best wins there. 140 Cotto was going life and death with a never was Torres and a has been Chop Chop. Career wise as far as prime and the pinnacle of their skills are concerned I'd say Cotto was elite going into his fights with Shane and Margarito. After that he slipped a lil but was still close to his prime against Manny. After that fight though he was officially past it. Floyd got a Cotto that was prolly at 85% or 90%. Marquez was elite as well, but was older and not accustomed to the weight when he fought Floyd and he was looked at as a tune up. nikkas can't rewrite history and now make JMM some elite bad ass going into that fight. True elite fighters aren't supposed to be massive underdogs whenever they face Floyd or any top elite opponent. In the end I think that was the main point of the article.
A lot of these undefeated elite fighters are facing solid B level guys are real good B+ guys, but not another true A level or A+ opponent.
