50 has nothing to do with this other than I give him credit for being an unapologetic a$$hole. He manages to keep dissing all these dudes and still remains in this weird frienemy state with all of them. Also still has successful business ventures. Dame basically ate off Jay and when the golden goose got away he just fell apart. Dame just seems off and I don’t know exactly what he’s doing or trying to do.

50 doesnt need anyone and it does hurt to still have Em and Dre in your corner even in an invisible role. Dame put himself into a hole that no one wants to dig him out of and it's like he just cant accept his L

After the Rocafella shyt he didnt have to stay in music. Dude couldve rode off with Rachel and played a behind the scenes role in her fashion shyt but he loves to be seen, heard and throw his weight around. 15+ years later and he still felt some type of way about the label split when letting Def Jam buy a big piece of the company on their watch got the ball rolling. Hey, after a while business partnerships fizzle and he had a chance to do other things with his piece of the company like invest but instead he chose to bug out, do tons of shady interviews and it got to a point where the industry didnt need to go thru him to get to Jay (or Kayne)

You are another one who doesn't have that spirit, you are just emulating what you see!

Who told you that you have to wear a suit & tie, when YOU have the money & power you need? The whole point in getting money is to have freedom to do what you want!

Did Russel Simmons wear a suit & tie when he was the man, and got respect all over the world? NO! He was the man because he did the exact opposite. He fukked with models, smoked his weed, had a driver for his benz, went partying all the time, talked street, yet he ran a lucrative business, had intelligence , and STILL had respect from corporate America. IT'S CALLED BEING HIP HOP!

I would wear some wild shyt just to say fukk the grammy's since they always are on some bullshyt when it comes to hip hop since the 80's. I have money, I could do what the fukk I want!:myman:

My post went over your head, because you naming rap artists has nothing to do with my point!
Aesthetics is the lowest form of communication imo. Suits are absurd and so are jerseys over white tees. Wtf do you want? You COULD do wtf you want but will you? Nah

Maybe not you, but I always did what the fukk I wanted to once I seen how a lot of people just follow what's popular, and have no real flavor.

Got laughed at for doing shyt, only for it to be cool a year or two later, but by then I'm onto something else! I grew up with that being normal for a select few,we called it being hip hop! Hip hop was not just about the music, but people forgot that part

I'm happy for everyone, but what happened to the original spirit of hip hop?

All these guys look like they are trying to emulate the white guys above them with all the suits. I know lot of yall won't understand, because you didn't grow up when hip hop had that rebellious spirit, and went to awards dressed how they want to dress, but why aren't they being creative while still looking stylish.

Looking at them explains why hip hop is not what is used to be, they lost that spirit when they got money. Instead of making the world like them, they are appeasing the world to get likes. I can see Jay-Z is getting his spirit back, though, but is it too late?
