"stars" out of the lineup is still a good team.

There are plenty of teams that have a better collection of skill players than the Niners had in the first half of this season. Up until the shoulder injury and Trent going out, Purdy was among the Top 5 in yards, yards per pass attempt, 20+ yard throws, etc... and the Niners ranked last in YAC...

Meaning that Purdy was doing it without checkdowns.

Also the idea that giving Purdy a big contract - even the biggest in the league - means every other player in our offense is gonna be an Uber driver is unfounded. Dolphins, Eagles, Bengals, Lions all gave their QBs massive contracts and still have elite skill players.

TYRONE GA!
I think he's worth a Baker deal. But he's gonna get Elite Money because of how stupid GMs have made the QB market

Baker still had the Bucs competitive even after losing Evans and Godwin

No one has said this but if you think that stacked roster is going to remain...you're wrong.

Teams have found a way to go after this offense. Zone is his bread and butter, but man he struggles. I saw a really bad stat from him vs man coverage. He's like 33rd in the league. He should get a Kaep type deal..

It's not going to remain, it's going to change. But the idea that it's definitely going to be worse if Brock gets the deal is not a foregone conclusion. The only guys quality guys we're at risk of losing moving forward are Trent (last legs) and Deebo (busted). Aiyuk, Jauan, CMC, Pearsall, and Puni are all under contract not going anywhere. We need to use the draft to replenish the missing production and we could end up even better if we draft well. Get a dominant tackle to replace McKivitz with our top 10 pick and that would go a long way towards restoring the offense. The Lions, Dolphins and Eagles all have stacked rosters with QBs signing top 5 deals. No reason to think we're going to fall off a cliff if we sign Brock to a large deal.

Trent, Deebo, CMC, George caps hits are all way too high next year.

2025 is pretty much our last season with this current iteration. If they don't get it done, then wholesale changes are coming regardless especially with Brock's assumed contract extension beginning in 2026

How are you defining wholesale changes though? Because 2/4 guys you mentioned can stay with Brock getting the bag. The offense will look different without Deebo but if Brock improves even a little bit from last year's form we'll be more than alright with the other pieces. Aiyuk, Pearsall, Jauan, CMC and Kittle is enough.
