My dad liked it but I never got into it. He told me he grew up on a lot of that era's advertising though, and that he was interested in how they come up with ideas for marketing campaigns and stuff.Premise has zero appeal
What was it 1950s white advertising?
The Wire Season 2 has aged very well.Season 2 was a pretty big gear change but I thought it was great, especially when things truly kick in by midseason. All of the pieces matter. The Greeks had came off as mysterious to me with their subtle, but deadly way of operating. Chris Bauer also delivered a hell of a performance as Frank Sabotka. It’s a season I appreciated a hell of a lot more upon rewatch.
Don't nobody give a fukk about NJI used to think this, but the cultural impact is too huge. And for a network TV show, it did more than it was supposed to do.
BB made boring ass New Mexico an interesting setting the same way The Wire and Sopranos made Baltimore and NJ into places that you otherwise wouldn't care about into great storyworlds.
I'm talking about in context of the show, not in real lifeDon't nobody give a fukk about NJ
I know what you meant, breh. I'm just saying watching that show didn't make NJ any more interesting to me than before. Just confirmed my thoughts of it being an ugly garbage place full of ugly garbage people.I'm talking about in context of the show, not in real life
The Bing, Vesuvio, Tony's Mansion, Satriale's weren't interesting? I mean I guess you can say that those places could be anywhere in America, but in contrast to where we're used to seeing the mob operate (NYC), Sopranos did a good job in making NJ come to life.I know what you meant, breh. BB does make me wanna visit NM tho. And I never really fukked with bmore (I'm from DC) until the wire piqued my interest.
You don't post in the gym anymore, you get or did @Son Goku run you off
Better Caul Saul is above BB now though
I can't rewatch Boardwalk Empire because that weirdo cop storyline is extremely trash and distracting. Also the main character simping for a pro-prohibition broad is too much forced juxtaposition for me.agreed at the title…I can imagine the uproar this thread caused tho lol
*edit*
just read the OP…I agree about ‘boardwalk empire’ as well…recently did a series rewatch after watching ‘the sopranos’ and time has done it no favors…I wasn’t a fan of the jimmy darmody character but have to admit the show fell off dramatically after his death…granted there were still some great moments and new characters introduced after that point…but overall the show/story became a bit of a drag
