I can already tell I'm going to be hooked :wow: My coach is all about helping friends get better and learning the right way, so I'll definitely do that. Many thanks :blessed:
Haww man, this is incredible. Im glad you're enjoying the art. Just think one day you'll be able to pass this down to your seed so they can get a jumpstart on obtaining confidence and learning the power of friendship. Being tough and strong at a young age gives friends the freedom to be themselves. Good luck and keep us updated. I havnt trained in a month after folding a toenail all the way back during a hard sparring session. Its grown back now.

Keep your nails trimmed friend.

I can already see the benefits for starting at a young age and will pass it down once I have kids. I'll keep you posted for sure. I'm dragging to get in the shower because I'm sore, but feel good that I did something to push myself to feel that way in the first place.

Looking forward to the journey :to:

Thanks breh :salute:

I'm at Dartanian Jiu Jitsu in Los Angeles. How bout you? How long you been at it and how's it going for you?

I been in the game 4 years off and on. I used to train in a spot called jungle gym martial arts in the bronx. I was there for almost 2 years minus about 6 months I missed for back surgery and recovery. I stopped in August of 2012 cause I wasn't able to train consistently cause of my back and it was getting expensive. I just went back 3 weeks ago to bronx martial arts academy under professor Doug pelinkovic who is a black belt under John danaher(Doug has his karate black belt too homey is a true ninja). Beenthere 3 weeks and iI'm in love all over again :to:

Please shower immediately after training friend. Molluscum contagiosum is a reality. Dont trust the mats no matter how often they're clean. If you have head and shoulders dont be afraid to use it as a first rinse wash before your soap. Never use a rag that you washed BJJ off with twice. Good luck.

You might want to invest in some facial wash to. Alot of times friends foreheads and faces hit the mat and you end up with zits, but washing thoroughly after class with a dedicated facial cleanser can assist in this not being an issue. Plus itll help your skin look all that more healthy.

Damn man, how's your back? I've played sports all my life and have always had a thing about not wanting to hurt my neck or my back. I'm sure you're doing fine if you're able to train again though.

How much do your classes run in NYC? The spot I go to now charges $125 for unlimited sessions, basically free reign over the entire gym. BJJ go and no gi, weights, cross fit, Judo, muay thai. I'm def going to take advantage of as much as that as I can, as often as possible.

Good students, everyone is cool and friendly, but insatiably trying to get better.

I feel ya'll on the being in love with it thing. I think I was hooked after my first lesson. Not only do I see the potential to get tremendously good at something that keeps you healthy and can protect you, the mental aspect is out of this world. Seems like you can apply it to anything in life.

I had an allergic reaction in May that made me really particular about my skin and the products I buy. I guess it was a blessing it disguise to get me in that mode since I gotta stay clean for the mat.

My back is ehh. I gotta get it stronger and lose some weight. I already suffered a back spasm since I came back.

It's expensive in NY. Right now I have a 6 month contract where I pay 150 a month for 3 classes a week. Unlimited is gonna be 185 when I renew for 2 years which isn't horrible but it isn't as good as cali.

3 days for progress. 2 days to maintain. I used to go 5 days a week so obviously you get good fast that way. 3 days is what my teachers teacher recommends for minimum, friend.
