Mr Somebody has very valid points, and I think a lot of what he says applies to one-on-one situations and professional matches.

I don't fight perfect strangers, I'm trying to puncture a lung with my 4 inch blade or rip their eyes out with my Bic pen/car keys.
I see, So basically you aint doin shyt.

Nope. Someone fight me, I'm trying to put them in a coma. Unless BJJ allows a knife to bounce off you.

Also, where I'm from they going for their guns. Aint no one trying to fight perfect strangers these days one-on-one.

Dudes running around here pointing out clinching know nothing about boxing.

Boxers clinch for 2 reasons. To get a quick rest from the action, or to smother his opponents punching.

No boxer is clinching anybody in a street fight, it's never needed, it's simply a tactic.

2. A charging grappler is like a double end bag. Target work. Bink bink uppercut KO:win:

this is coming from a boxer

Damn near what I was about to say word for word. Did it for about a year and did alot of tapping. Only reason why I stopped wad becuz I felt like the instructors were just looking for people to throw around.

:russ: grapplers dont charge. They want for the boxer to commit to a strike then go for a takedown. Its so quick you wont even realize what happened. The thing about striking, at some point you have to plant both your feet and commit to the strike which is when you're most vulnerable, which is when you will be taken down. Its not bink bink. If it was, more failed boxers would be in MMA bink binking people into championship titles.

 Was this an official BJJ academy with lineage or someone teaching out of a ghetto fitness gym.

I have a better appreciation of BJJ, because those videos showed me the limitations of striking.

One big advantage of BJJ is no one can lay a finger on you, in a fight that is all that matters.

But, if you rush a guy and take him to the ground, you better hope it is situation where they will let you shoot a fair one.

I still lean towards something that lets me fight multiple people like a gun, Kung-Fu, or a knife, because I do not start fights.
