It was a joke!
Mental health is just waved off a lot of the time if you're a Black man

I'm not gonna be vulnerable with people I know, they don't wanna hear that shyt

I started feeling depressed when I was a kid, I'd just sit there and stare at nothing for hours not wanting/being able to do anything, it was scary but I had no one to talk to, didn't even know how to talk about it

I dealt with that when I turned 13. shyt was just the weight of everything coming down on me, it was paralyzing.

Its only an issue when those same depressed people are using their actions and harming people of authority.

Yeah we're not allowed to be "weak".

It was only in my 30s did I realize how important mental health is. I know a few guys who suffer from poor mental health which caused them to crash out early; suicide, in and out of prison, substance abuse all that.

One guys mom died on his 11th birthday and after that he's never been the same, he never dealt with it.

The other started abusing drugs as a child and when he went to prison he got diagnosed for 3 mental illness, and his therapist said he's had this since he was a kid.

The third came from a war torn country, he moved continents alone and finally offed himself when he just couldn't take it anymore.

We really gotta reprogram ourselves, if not as a whole at least show the next generation they don't have to go through what we and past generations went through.

Mental health doesnt have anything to do with those situstions. Thats more of a matter of those men not having the answers. He didnt know the proper way to think about his mothers death. The other guy I would have suggested he move again. I wouldve suggested he educate himself until he found answers or happiness in his quest for answers. Mental health is largely a matter of intelligence and who gives themselves the knowledge to have answers to the most problems. Its literally like working a muscle just like physical health is:respect:

That's the issue if all men don't care why would anyone else? We have to be men and make the change.

The coddling is what got us here, coddling definitely isnt the fix. Empowering men is frowned upon in this #ImEveryWomanEra we currently are living through. But if you have sons and nephews, you need to empower them quietly yet loud in the backrooms/underground:respect:

Did this just happen in a vacuum? Or is something driving them to escapism? We see it with Gambling too. Dudes are gambling more than they're dating. Why do the things that makes used to dream about not seem so dreamy anymore?
Because the pillars that kept those dreams up have crumbled

“In males, it’s theoretically possible that this reflects improved mental health, but I’m struggling with that explanation,” Chua said. “Given that everybody’s mental health got worse, I would have expected that boys’ antidepressant dispensing would have at least remained stable, not decrease.”
