I dealt with that when I turned 13. shyt was just the weight of everything coming down on me, it was paralyzing.Mental health is just waved off a lot of the time if you're a Black man
I'm not gonna be vulnerable with people I know, they don't wanna hear that shyt
I started feeling depressed when I was a kid, I'd just sit there and stare at nothing for hours not wanting/being able to do anything, it was scary but I had no one to talk to, didn't even know how to talk about it
Yeah we're not allowed to be "weak".
It was only in my 30s did I realize how important mental health is. I know a few guys who suffer from poor mental health which caused them to crash out early; suicide, in and out of prison, substance abuse all that.
One guys mom died on his 11th birthday and after that he's never been the same, he never dealt with it.
The other started abusing drugs as a child and when he went to prison he got diagnosed for 3 mental illness, and his therapist said he's had this since he was a kid.
The third came from a war torn country, he moved continents alone and finally offed himself when he just couldn't take it anymore.

That's the issue if all men don't care why would anyone else? We have to be men and make the change.
Because the pillars that kept those dreams up have crumbledDid this just happen in a vacuum? Or is something driving them to escapism? We see it with Gambling too. Dudes are gambling more than they're dating. Why do the things that makes used to dream about not seem so dreamy anymore?
It would require a lot of effort from every society to make changes, but as we see so far, they ain't trying to put effort in that department sadlyDo you think these things will change at any point in the future?
FOH“In males, it’s theoretically possible that this reflects improved mental health, but I’m struggling with that explanation,” Chua said. “Given that everybody’s mental health got worse, I would have expected that boys’ antidepressant dispensing would have at least remained stable, not decrease.”
