"Titanic" Bodied Domestically. "Avatar" next. Look the record will hold for many years because it's headed to 900+ Million Doemstic possbily even a Billi. Now what's coming up in the next 5 years that could compete? Honestly only another "Star Wars" film or an "Avatar" Sequel though I feel James waited to long and the 3D gimmicky is beyond played out. So I see "Avatar 2" dropping. Nothing Marvel is dropping in the next 5 years will see "Star Wars" which outgrossed "Ultron" in it's sleep. "Infinity War" will be Big but not as Big as some think because the whole "Team-up" situation isn't even a Big deal anymore epsically with them doing "Civil War". As for DC, look Batman and Superman have broken the OW record 6 times between the both of them. But I just don't see this film breaking records. BatsVSupes will do very good but it has a ceiling. To make "Star Wars" numbers you have to get EVERYONE including casual audience were as Marvel and DC films are way more fanboys driven. Yes Star Wars has it's fanboys but way more casauls are watching it. My money is on Episode 8 or 9 or Avatar 2 or 3.

I think BvS isn't gonna do as good as people might think. 125m tops. I think it'll be more in the 100m range.

I don't think there's any buzz for Avatar 2 basically anywhere but especially among casuals. But.. Like others have said you can never count out Cameron.

BatsVSupes wil do probably 160-180 OW but not have strong legs because it's dropping in March with kids still in school. "Avatar 2" will get the casuals onboard when the first visuals come out. Again everything is saying it won't do better than "Avatar" but don't underestimate Cameron. He's perfect with his sequels, (T2, Aliens). Episode 8 is the real wild card because it brings Star Wars back to May in the Memorial Day Summer Slot. Plus it's the 40th Anniversary celebration so you know Disney and Lucasfilm is pulling out the stops. Rian Johnson better not mess it up, lol.

Yeah he's bugging
That would be the laughing stock of the year. Biggest flop of all time. I suppose I could see it underperform to an extent but it should hit 350+ easily you would think... or a huge opening and a huge drop off and settle around 400. MOS hit just shy of 300 and was seen as a bit of an underperformace. So they have to be gunning for 400+, possibly 500 if it delivers.

You mean 125mill OW? Or domestic

I think that it will do somewhere between 100m-125m domestic for the first weekend. Probably closer to 100m.

Man of Steel did 116m domestic in 2013 which was near the top of the superhero hype. The movie isn't particularly well regarded today. If it was a straight Man of Steel sequel Id say 80m first week domestic. Batman should add interest but I think people have Batman fatigue and general audiences are confused as to why there is a new Batman already.

To top it off, people are already getting fatigued by 2-3 big superhero movies per year, I just don't see this one being anything special box office wise.

I did a couple posts after it. Remembered that was a thing because it'll be an event. But it'll also depend on the stakes going in. Marvel has got to be sure at that point that the formula isn't stale and that there are real stakes with it. Just doing the same ole same ole won't get them passed that mark at all so it's one thing for it to be this big two part movie shot in imax but there's got to be real stakes and a sense of it. That's why the Harry Potter movies continued to do better and better but also get creatively better is because each movie after the 2nd was different from the one before it and each had a sense of dread and build to the climax which is why death hallows did what if did financially and critically. So there is something to what @Lord_Chief_Rocka is saying about the villain shyt. Thanos can't be a punchline and can't be a walking talking quip machine or get beat by a dance off. He's got to be Voldermort status

Thanos can be anything, the character isn't the draw, the villains have never been the draw. It's the heroes, heroes crossing here and there and interacting along with it and in regard to the movies being mentioned the films being the final installment. People paying/interested do not care about the other stuff. It's all irrelevant and restricted to "Internet talk".
