Listen to me, man. The thought patterns you're caught up in are all messed up. Don't sit there thinking about sharks and goldfish or Wells Fargo. Whether you're in a corporate environment or an entrepreneur the main thing you have to think about is--if they're going to give you money, you're going to have to generate more than that amount of money for them. You have to actually be valuable to them. Figure out a way to be valuable to someone. Even this whole internet $5 thing won't work if someone doesn't see why it's worth it to them. If you want to make money, take your ego out of the equation and figure out why someone should give you money.

If you get a decent number of subscribers than you can maybe ask for donations for the time you are putting in to give people unique content. I'm sure if people see value in what you are offering they will be more likely to support you financially.
