I started in banking back at 18 at B of A.

While being laid off from my prior credit union of 5 years during the crash, I got on at the crusader because of experience from that Lakernation coverage I did.

So in 2010 & 2011, I pulled myself up from my bootstraps and took an UNPAID position covering sports at a BLACK owned newspaper.

See again, this hard work you do, be it black or whatever, makes you THINK people will pay it off on the back end.

Did I do it expecting people to drop money on my lap in the future? No, but I did to play the tap dance game, work for free, pull yourself up, suck it up, everything you guys are saying I heard it and did it.

So unemployed, baby on the way, I am in Texas covering the 2010 All-Star game, figuring that these articles, this story, my coli dudes, they are going to appreciate me working for free, writing articles, spending my own gas money, interviewing Blake Griffin, Deandre Jordan, writing articles, and ONE day when I get out there, my story, and my WORK. my hard work will earn me the help.

But see, look at how cuz talking to me. I aint special, I aint shyt, "who are you?" You aint walt disney or turner, mutha fukkas who got to establish they shyt when black people couldn't , but whatever, who am I.

I am the nikka that talked Ether Day with Ron Artest and Lamar ODom, and I dont shy away from the fact that that is special, different and hella cool.

Now just say you aint giving shyt, but dont tell me I dont have the drive, the resume, or the credentials that any other white man that has written a grammatically incorrect article about a tall negro dunking a basketball.

A black owned paper wouldn't pay you but thats white peoples fault, right? I'm not dismissing how hard it is to make it in the world as a black man but you're on a whole 'nother level. Why don't you link up all of these NBA interviews you have? Why don't you start sending all that content to companies that would pay for that content? Submit all of these so called special interviews to Yahoo Sports, NBC sports, deadspin, etc. Its great that you want to make it on your own but your eating ramen and hustling the barbershop for soda money. I think you need to re-evaluate your mission and how you'll get there.
