I'm reading The Outsider by Stephen King. It is a long one, but I am 3/4 done and looking forward to the wrapup.
have you read the bill Hodges trilogy?

its best to read that before that book

The Outsider was trash. King mailed that one in. Color by numbers book. Nothing shocking or crazy twists. Just some cool easter eggs pointing ti the Hodges trilogy thats not dope enough to read it.

Rosewater
(The Wormwood Trilogy #1)
by
Tade Thompson (Goodreads Author)
4.05 · Rating details · 314 Ratings · 90 Reviews
Tade Thompson's Rosewater is the start of an award-winning, cutting edge trilogy set in Nigeria, by one of science fiction's most engaging new voices.

Rosewater is a town on the edge. A community formed around the edges of a mysterious alien biodome, its residents comprise the hopeful, the hungry and the helpless—people eager for a glimpse inside the dome or a taste of its rumored healing powers.

Kaaro is a government agent with a criminal past. He has seen inside the biodome, and doesn't care to again—but when something begins killing off others like himself, Kaaro must defy his masters to search for an answer, facing his dark history and coming to a realization about a horrifying future.

I have to admit that the ending of the Outsider was a disappointment. It just lacked any real tension.

Kinda bored with what I have, reading goodreads to see what's out.

This caught my eye (cool cover), and I'm seeing its stories are like

'The Finkelstein 5', the first short story in Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah's debut collection, is astounding. It follows a young man named Emmanuel as he prepares for a job interview, taking steps (modifying his voice, wearing smart clothes, smiling and being constantly polite) to ensure his Blackness is dialled down as far as possible. He's happy about the interview, but 'he also felt guilty about feeling happy about anything. Most people he knew were still mourning the Finkelstein verdict'.

and

'Zimmer Land' is another standout – George Saunders by way of Black Mirror. The narrator works at a theme park where 'patrons' can role-play a scenario in which they are attacked by, and ultimately 'kill', a black assailant.

I won't lie, it's got me a bit uneasy about a purchase cos I'm wondering if they're just stories of pain that go nowhere. Also I hate that Zimmer Land title and that story seems definitely ripping off Black Mirror

The confrontation was anti climatic as hell

First half of the book seemed like it was heading into top tier and then...

King’s best shyt to me is The Green Mile and 11/22/63
