Finally finished the duology of Standing At the Scratch Line by Guy Johnson(Maya Angelou's son) by finishing Echoes In The Summer

Book 1 and 2 both great. Book 1 is better. But 2 holds is still a good read. But does have some cringeworthy moments in 2.

I will also say Book 2's ending is kinda cliche "all things neatly tied up" but given the shyt the characters go through, u appreciate everybody getting a good happy ending.

Kinda sucks that there is no 3rd book to this series. cause the ending leaves off that there is still some enemies lurking. But I guess Guy said "no use dragging this story any longer"

All in all great series

Picked up Meddling Kids, and so far it's hilarious. Dark comedy take on Scooby. Watched 100 Great American Reads, and next I have tp pick up Wheel of Time.

This book is getting tons of hype. Will be starting it soon.

Rosewater
(The Wormwood Trilogy #1)
by
Tade Thompson (Goodreads Author)
4.05 · Rating details · 314 Ratings · 90 Reviews
Tade Thompson's Rosewater is the start of an award-winning, cutting edge trilogy set in Nigeria, by one of science fiction's most engaging new voices.

Rosewater is a town on the edge. A community formed around the edges of a mysterious alien biodome, its residents comprise the hopeful, the hungry and the helpless—people eager for a glimpse inside the dome or a taste of its rumored healing powers.

Kaaro is a government agent with a criminal past. He has seen inside the biodome, and doesn't care to again—but when something begins killing off others like himself, Kaaro must defy his masters to search for an answer, facing his dark history and coming to a realization about a horrifying future.
Thinking of reading this now.

But after just recently finishing the Standing in the scratch Line duology which is long, I want to take a break from a series Novel for now

I'll stay reading stand alone novels temporarily.

But this seems promising.

Anyone read Cloud Atlas? I found it at DT. :ehh:
It's a very hard read. One of those books when I finished, I wasnt sure if I liked it, or just proud that I finished it.

It's just the first book, and the next one hasnt been released yet, so it will be a stand alone for now, lol.

It was just ok. Kept me interested enough to read the next one, but was a little underwhelmed. Had high expectations.

Alright, if that's the case I'll hold off until the second book

Rn I'm reading HomeGoing, and right now I'm gonna read the Orphan X series(Bought book 1)

So I'll come back to Rosewater later

What was underwhelming about it?
