An update from my last post. I'm currently reading:
- The secret teachings of all ages (Hall, 1928)
- The swords of glass (Corgiat & Zuccheri, 2014)
- Avengers vs. Thanos (Starlin, Friedrich, Englehart & Gerber, 2013)
- Mexico: Architecture, Interiors, Design (Bradbury & Luscombe-Whyte, 2004)
- The Creative Writing Student's Handbook (Hartigan & James, 2014)
- Black Panther: The Ultimate Guide (Wiacek, 2018)
I've completed Ready Player One (Cline, 2011), which was a really fun book. Much more detailed than the movie. Conquistadors (Wood, 2000) was a good read, it gives you information on select Spanish figures' conquest or exploration of the South American continent (i.e. Hernan Cortes conquest of the Aztecs and Tenochtitlan). The author even goes into the countries and traces their paths, giving an insight on what both Natives and Conquistadors may have experienced/thought/felt at the time. Mythology (Dell, 2012) was another book I enjoyed reading. It contains brief descriptions of each concepts of Mythology (creations myths, supernatural realm, underworld, etc), with examples of various myths for around the world (Yoruba, Norse, Greek, etc) and lots of high quality pictures included in each page.
Here are the new books I've purchased:
I've actually finished reading Pluto (Urasawa, 2009). Good book based on the Astro Boy story (which I heard of but never watch or read the material). I've also finished Paper Girls, Vol. 4 (Vaughan & Chiang, 2018), which still has an air mystery and excitement to story. Much better than Vol. 3, which didn't feel like it was going somewhere.
