Finished Shift.

I'm committed now regardless of how it turns out. On to "Dust" now. Got less than a month to get my book goal for the year in.

What's the goal?

Started off on the low end of 12 (1 per month) & 4,000 pages total to ease my way back into reading like I used to do all of the time and had gotten away from. Gonna double it to 24 for next year probably. Tracking it on the StoryGraph app & about to start Book #10.

That is what's up. I think I'm averaging two and a half books for this year. I had gotten out of reading for a while but picked it back up August (I think) of last year and have been keeping it up since.
I'm at 44 books for this year but I'm going to try at least two more (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and A Game of Thrones) before the month is over.

Just finished Fire & Blood by George RR Martin. This was my first foray into the A Song of Ice & Fire series, and I can see why it is rated so highly.
I really look forward to going into the main series with very little knowledge of what happened from the adaptations.

Right now I'm listening to the Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.

I'm at a point in my life where I can receive the message this book carries and apply it to my life. If you're in a place of spiritual growth definitely recommend.

Also listening to the Laws of Human Nature by Robert Greene. I feel like this book is more of a history book with a little lessons sprinkled in. I feel like 33 Strategies of War gave me more real applications

I read this in a few days cuz it was so captivating and entertaining (even though not without faults), while it's taken me much longer to finish books much shorter than it lol.

Yeah, I'm hoping it sticks with me this go around. Shyt making me remember why I fell in luv with it in the 1st place & how TV/Film is just a small extension of it but u can't beat a good book lol.

Sheesh u ain't playing tho. I still need to finish the GOT book series.

Tried to read this when I was a lot younger and I wasn't ready for it at all either. Might try it again soon. One of my peoples got me "A New Earth" earlier this year but I haven't touched it yet.

You know what's funny is i can't wait to finish this book and start that one, entirely missing the point of the book I'm reading :pachaha:

Just finished up the short story collection of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
Of the three I rank them: The Mystery Knight being my favorite, followed by The Hedge Knight, and then The Sworn Sword.

I didn't dislike The Sworn Sword, it's just that it took me longer to get into the story

I love movies but when you get wrapped up in a good book I find it hard to beat.
