Game of thrones book 1-3 is one the best books ive ever read but I simply couldn't get into the fourth one as I found it tedious. Such a shame because I really wanted to know whar happened to tyrion and co.

blink the power of thinking without thinking 
Yeah the series took a dive after part 3, but then again, 3 set the bar unbelievably high. I don't know what George RR Martin is doing, but he started jumping into the perspective of all of these different characters, and many of them are uninteresting. Davos chapters are extremely hard to make it through. Book 5 is a lot better than 4, but it doesn't reach the height of 3.

the curious incident of the dog in the nighttime (fiction) - first person narrative of an autistic kid from a broken home. dad kills dog. narrator thinks dad is out to kill son, flees to divorced mom's house using dad's debit card funds. read it in high school but loved it so much, thought it was worth a re-read.
outliers (non-fiction) - look into why successful people are successful. like how they were raised, circumstances that lead to their success in respective field.
