We can select a genre and book for each month that we will all read. It should be read by the Sunday before the month ends. If you're down, drop some genres or books that you haven't read and we'd all find interesting. I'll create a thread afterwards.

Some suggestions -

Non fiction - Caste, by Isabella Wilkerson
Sci -fi - The Last Watch, by JS Dewes
Literary fiction - Black Buck by Mateo Askaripoir
Fantasy - Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter
Thriller - RazorBlade Tears by SA Cosby

(All black authors except for Dewes)

I just picked up that Max Brooks Devolution but haven’t started it.

or just go to a site like goodreads, find out the top 10 books and then start a poll on here.

I'm more of a non-fiction reader, but I'm happy to read whatever as long as I can find the .epub

Currently, though, this is my "want to read" page on Goodreads. Some new, some old, some re-reads

Paul Mooney: Black is the new white

Man Richard Pryor was wild as fukk!!

:whew:

The story about Rich clapping up his wifes car was straight up MADNESS!
its amazing he didnt die sooner.
All he did other than comedy was get bent and get high.
His struggles to be loved by white Hollyweird was truly some sad shyt.
Cause heres Mooney on his "fukk these crakkkers" shyt.
And Rich is like straddling the fence.
He was devastated that he wasnt credited in some John Wayne flik.
Them Hollyweird execs are fukking evil as hell man!
:francis:

Tryna to get thru this Born to Use Mics shyt about illmatic but goddamn Michael Eric Dyson is corny.
I think there are different writers that cover each song tho and i dont like skipping chapters and shyt but its been a chore to read his shyt.
Its funny cause i liked that one joint Tears We Cannot Stop.

Stokely has been on my to read list for a minute.

Since September is a back to school month, I've been thinking a mystery or biography should be in order.

Something like A Kiss Before Dying by Ira Levin.

There is also the Knewgoat book written by BossMobb.

I've been reading Harry Potter and an Agatha Christie novel in Japanese. The latter of which I'm not enjoying. It hasn't pushed past the put down threshold just yet, but it might.

Pachinko is up next.

Stephen King - Billy Summers

It's a crime novel not horror. It's about a hitman doing a one last job and his cover is that he's an author.
