Quick review.

I want to hear the album next month back to back with this. This here alone isn’t moving me too much.

Method to Madness picks up the energy after Ill Advised (the worst song Al and Boldy have made so far) and the energy drops back down on Summer Nights. Dinavolino and My First Offense are great. And Summet Nights is even dope.

Summer Nights is what Ill Advised should’ve been. I hate to say it but having Ill Advised on here (especially as the opener) fukks things up.

They recorded 30 joints and are using 16...Ill Advised should’ve been left on the floor. The outro beat on Summer Nights should’ve been rapped over and Ill Advised should’ve been that outro beat.

:hubie: Sorry @T.H.E. Goat

Edit: Boldy is the star here though. It’s prettu impressive how much he’s improved in the past few years.

Wow you really don’t like Ill Advised? I can understand though that’s not a typical Boldy beat so I could see people not liking it....I love it though:manny:

Seems like these songs were made around the time The Cool Kids were recording with Alc, truth be told I wish they would’ve just made a Cool Kids X Boldy EP using the Layups and Boldface songs...would’ve hit a little harder in my opinion

Wasn’t expecting much when it was announced that it was only 5 songs, only song I wasn’t feeling on first listen was My First Offense....probably because it was too short, I rock with everything else on here

Definitely anticipating the album even more now but I’ll be fed with this until next month

That’s funny that your least favorite joint is my favorite. I think my first offense is super dope.

I agree about the cool kids by the way.

I do think all of it was recorded around the same time. I remember a bunch of tweets this spring, and I know Boldy said that he and Al did 30 some joints in a few weeks. And it may be different now, but at the time he said he had no idea what was going to get released and what wasn’t, but that it was just a ton of material.

I’ve got two joints unlisted but I’m guessing you’ve heard by now, but one of them has Benny on it. I like them both more than anything on this EP so I’m looking forward to the album.

The EP features Cool Kids. The album features Freddie Gibbs, Benny, and Vince Staples.

Boldy recorded 30 joints with Al total. Sounds like we’re getting 16 between the EP and album.

EP tracklist.

1. Ill Advised
2. Method to My Madness
3. Summer Nights
4. Dinavolino feat. The Cool Kids
5. My First Offense

So this first joint here with Benny isn’t on this EP
