The EP features Cool Kids. The album features Freddie Gibbs, Benny, and Vince Staples.

Boldy recorded 30 joints with Al total. Sounds like we’re getting 16 between the EP and album.

EP tracklist.

1. Ill Advised
2. Method to My Madness
3. Summer Nights
4. Dinavolino feat. The Cool Kids
5. My First Offense

So this first joint here with Benny isn’t on this EP

For whatever reason I never really listened to the first joint. Going back through it now and this shyt is piff. These Alc beats are vintage, I could hear The Mobb on a lot of these. I miss Alc with hard drums.

Looking forward to the EP and Album.

Man the one positive thing to keep in mind is that that album came out at the height of his drumless era. Rare Chandeliers has recently dropped which had barely any hard drums.

Boldy is like Benny or Evidence in that they all don’t usually pick beats without drums. IMO across the board too many emcees are still picking too many drumless joints out here. It works best as an occasional thing, and if you aren’t Roc Marci, Ka, or GxFR you should probably be careful doing it.

:yeshrug:

Action had a lot of popularity and IMO he and Roc Marci got a lot of rappers thinking they should pick Al beats without drums. Thankfully it’s dying down. I was shocked that the Action and Al EP last month only had one beat without drums.

Pretty sure the album feature Curren$y, Benny, Conway, Evidence and Freddie Gibbs. He thanked them all in a tweet. @TheDarceKnight where did you heard about Vince?
In here but I think your list is correct and more comprehensive. He didn’t name everyone but just tossed a few names out. What you think of the first couple joints?

"Ill Advised" would be the weakest song on the album if it was on "My 1st Chemistry Set" in my opinion. Song hasn't caught me at all.

Same here. I like Method to Madness though and the Benny joint is dope. Ill Advised is IMO the weakest song they’ve ever done together, not only on M1CS, but also counting their work on Russian Roulette, Yacht Rock, Layups, etc.

I’m not sweating it. But I’m surprised that’s what they chose to lead with. It sounds like it should be an interlude or something. Strange choice though as a song to get folks interested in the EP and the full album.

Can’t believe y’all ain’t feeling Ill Advised

That shyt soulful as a bytch:to:

“Most of us didn’t believe in God so we were robbing preachers:ohlawd:
lyrics are dope. I just fee like the beat keeps sounding as if it's about to drop but never does

Method to Madness on the other hand is super dope to me.

Ill Advised I think I'll like more as an intro to the EP when I hear the rest of the songs.

Crazy how the single they released is the worst thing on here.

Boldy blacks the fukk out on Dinavolino

My First Offense gives me Yacht Rock vibes. Especially with the ocean and seagull sounds.
