The 48 thing is weird but I got it figured out.

Speed Demon on the last album is 48 bars, exactly. This new joint is also exactly 48 bars. I'm guessing that the new single was called Another 48 at first, and then they realized people would be confused and wonder where the first 48 was, so they just changed the title to First 48 after the artwork was made...and plus First 48 is a television show so that gives the name a little double meaning.

So yeah. First 48 Freestyle = Another 48 Freestyle on Bo Jackson...and if you want to go listen to the original 48 bars from Boldy, then Speed Demon Freestyle on Tea in China has it for you.

:ohhh:

All make sense.

Really hyped for this. Price of Tea was a sleeper hit for me. I didn't like it at first, but after a few listens it has some of the most varied and unique ALC beats compiled on one project. The whole thing just flowed perfectly

Crazy. I think me, you, @areohbee824 and @subletteafterdark all felt that way. I remember being very :ld: on Price of Tea. I thought it was a cool 3 mics (maybe less). I was less than impressed by it to say the least, and it became my AOTY.

That's definitely the most an album has grown on me in a few years. I didn't even listen to it for a month or so after its first week being out. And I liked it more, and kept listening every week or so. And after a few months, I was like ":ohhh:how did I end up loving this when I didn't even like it? :wow:"

Even if Gibbs is the better rapper, I still think this is a better album than Alfredo :manny:

If Bo Jackson is even comparable to Price of Tea, it'll be in my AOTY discussion.

Really dope clip of how he made the album cover from sliced up baseball cards, and some words about he and Boldy

"Big week for my brother Boldy James! Today is his birthday, our new album drops on friday . When Chuck Inglish linked us back up 2 years ago i didn’t know what was gonna happen. It was almost 6 years since we made music. I had ALC Records moving but really hadn’t put all my effort into making an album with one artist. He came out to LA , We recorded one song and i said ‘holy shyt this fool got better.” If that was even possible . He updated. Boldy 2.0. I also forgot how funny he was and how much i liked him just as a friend. We had a long talk about the early days , what went right , what went wrong , etc. I told him this go around if he trusted me i would get him back in position. We dropped the BOLDFACE EP as a warning shot, then TPOTIC and the rest is history. He has been on a tear since. MVP of 2020 easily. And wait till you hear the BO JACKSON LP ….. everybody wish @boldyjames a happy birthday !!! WHERE WE AT. CONCREATURES. 227 "

Can't wait for this. Boldy's been one of my favorites for a minute. No doubt it's gonna be fire.

Only thing I'm not feeling that much is the features. They're all good rappers, but I hate that all Alchemist's projects are starting to have the same five or six features on them.

I feel you on that. I think it's an unintentional result of the same people recording at the house with the same people. It's almost like we've got an unofficial rap crew now that just doesn't have a name. I understand not wanting to deal with emailing verses and stuff, but I feel like there might be too much of an insistence on Al's part of recording in person and not sending beats and verses back and forth online.

I love TPOTIC though so having most of the features be the same doesn't bug me too bad. And I wouldn't mind some more fresh blood besides Stove God. Ultimately I get your point though, and I agree. I'd like some surprise features on some of these albums.
