I feel that way about Conway tbh, I don't hear it with Boldy besides the Alchemist partnership:patrice:
You might like Boldy's projects with Sterling Toles or Real Bad Man. Those are my favorite ones after the Alc ones.

Conway for some reason doesn't remind me of Prodigy nearly to the extent as Boldy does. Boldy's personality, his mannerisms, and his voice remind me more of P than Conway does. Also Boldy and Alc are like best friends in the way that P and Alc were. I always associated Prodigy heavily with Havoc, Alc, and Sid Roams. He worked so much with them. Even when P was a solo artist he did the majority of his work with those producers. I can't see Conway or Gibbs letting Alc run the ship to the same degree as P or Boldy.

I know Conway has done a lot of music (maybe most of it) with Alc and Daringer, but he still seems more like a free agent or independent contractor to me than Boldy does. For some reason I don't automatically associate Conway with who produces for him in the same way with I do Prodigy and Boldy.

Tea in China and Bo Jackson feel very much to me like a continuation of what P and Alc did with Return of the Mac and Albert Einstein. I'm not saying I'm right or wrong BTW. Just my own observations.

Boldy is not prodigy. Only new age rapper that sometimes reminds me of him is Mach when he's on his grimey free association flow. But even then Prodigy, especially young prodigy was real unique

That's cool, I can see what you're saying. I'm looking at it more in terms of rhyming abilities, how they are both natural talents when it comes to flow, the pain in their voice (albeit for different reasons), and overall being extremely grimy.

I like this album tho even I'm not the biggest Boldy fan. I'll give it more spins.

EPMD my new favorite song on this
EPMD was my favorite solo joint on here when I was listening all day the day this came out. It's still right up there, but yeah. I think EPMD is gonna go down as the most underrated joint on here. I was surprised how few people were talking about it on Friday compared to the other joints. I think the fact that it's sandwiched between Brickmile and Steel Wool made people overlook it a bit. Both of those beats are more overt and less subdued.

Boldy talks about everybody plotting my demise on EPMD and the beat actually sounds like it's plotting. He's got a lot of slick lines on there too. The theme matches the beat matches the lyrics and the flow. It all comes together perfect on there.

I'm usually not listening to boldy music for his bars. Just my personal taste, but this song is gangsta af. And the fact he's saying it so nonchalant makes it sound more menacing. That song is official goon music. Someone is cooking to that rn :russ:

No doubt. I don’t think his bars are crazy intricate or anything, but I do think his flows are really smooth and his bars are slick enough to be above average by now.

That’s dope you’re cooking to it now :heh:

Like a lot of alchemist beats it’s just so hypnotic. I could listen to it all day

The second half of this album is damn near flawless. First half has some songs I'm not into but aren't bad. Very good album. Also this is the most interesting Alch has been in awhile to me, beat wise. Even got that Russian Roulette vibe revival on 3rd Person.
:wow:

Side note...when is Earl gonna fix his career and do an album with Alch smh.
