This fukking piece of shyt RENN running the past weeks. Gonna RIP my June puts.
Options are great, but sometimes backfire when you aren't ballsy and just buy a stock outright.
I have $3.50 Jan puts that could expire worthless and lose me $1100
June $4 puts that could expire worthless and lose me $160
Sold 10 $4.50 covered calls for Jan 16 for $35 premium
and now worth $600
Bought $3.50 Jan 16 calls for $0.25 a contract and sold for like $0.35 because I forgot I bought them and got scared. Now worth $1.05.
Bought $4 Jan 16 and sold $5.50 call for like $0.20 spread, which has now almost tripled.
And end of the day... coulda just bought the stock like I did already $2.80... waited because I know RENN randomly pops out of nowhere, and sold at $4.40 today for almost 2k profit, not worrying about god damn calls and puts. Instead I'm capped at about $500 with all this shyt expiring worthless and getting called at $4.50.

develop a thesis and stick with it. The options expire at a certain date, why did you pick that date? Maybe I just take a longer view than most people but the losses don't bother me. Set you risks with stops and sleep well. I lose on trades too it happens.
I feel u, I am not upset at anything except my strategy. Buying calls/puts with an short expiration which is too risky. Lesson learned, now I move on with better experience going forward.
having said that I think my next option trade buying EPE calls with an August expiry will fare better. I spent a lot of time researching this one and I feel we will be in the 15.00 range by then.
I just deposit some money into my 2nd brokerage account and getting ready to do my first call option. I'm still undecided on which company to play for a short term opportunity. Anyone has suggestions on how their select stocks or sectors to play for a gain?
Call me crazy but I think URBN is a good play. They had a bad quarter but with back to school it should rebound in the fall.

If you don't have a ton on RENN, I wouldn't panic yet.
Short of some news, it's way to overbought to continue this shyt. It has definitely surprised me running up so high for so long... but this has to be RENN buying shares back. There isn't a catalyst to keep the volume up like this for so many days.

I purchased that stock and ended up making 150.00
prior to earnings based on your feedback. That is the only silver lining this week. I should have sold my calls when it hit 35.30 though that was a big mistake.
