Questions for all of the folks in here. Does anyone in here works full time in investment banking? The reason why I asking is that I have a job interview at my former job (Big 4 bank) on Thursday for a client solutions analyst in asset management. If offered the position, I would be working with financial advisers, management and shareholders with regards to trades, research, and paperwork for mutual funds. I would have to get my series 6 and 63 certificates 90 days afterwards to retain employment. I just accepted a position today at a smaller bank for a commercial loan boarding specialist but I would rather have this position back at my old job. The new gig doesn't pay much and it's not what I really want to do but beggars cannot be choosers in today's market. Your boy needs full-time employment again out here on these streets :mjcry:. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I do work for an investment bank but I work in corporate finance. I don't manage people's money but I arrange debt and equity investments for corporations.

I dont really know what you're asking are you going for the analyst role?

I want to go into an area that I would be interested in, not just to collect a paycheck. I'm starting to enjoy learning the different avenues in investments. Hopefully, in the long term, I can start making enough money where I can move out west and not being dependent on a job for my main source of income. It just sucks that i'm now getting an opportunity to interview for a position that i'm more interested in after accepting another offer today because I need a steady job after months of unemployment. At least if I don't get this role, I already have something line up. But if I do get this position, I hope that I am notified before my first day in a couple of weeks :wow:.

From talking to the recruiter today, this role is more a QC role with mutual funds, retirement plans and trusts. I have extensive experience with dealing with senior management, investors, customers and various department with regards to quality control, researching accounts and handling escalated issues from the clients. I just need to convey my experience from mortgage banking to this role to the hiring managers. Since I would also be working with the associates who do sell products to clients, I would also need my series 6 and 63 to handle escalated issues and suggestions from the shareholders with regards to their retirement plans.

I just asked to get a feel on the investment environment if I was offered the role. I already refreshing my knowledge of mutual funds and the products that my old company sells to customers. Need the let them know that they would be stupid not to rehire me since I was already an exceeds performer before being ripped :troll::stopitslime:.

oh yeah, I'm kind of echoing other journalists I've seen but the DOJ charging that guy today and claiming he is responsible for the flash crash in 2010 is ridiculous. He was doing what these HFTs do every day. Not that they're HFT but Waddell & Reed dumped 75,000 eMinis in a single trade on that day.
