Doral Financial failed, looks like they're getting seized by the FDIC.

speaking of the FDIC if you want to make some easy money in banking look at the commercial properties they have in receivership from bank failures related to the credit crisis (or whenever). essentially fix and flips on a bigger scale. they'll sell at nice discounts to get the shyt off their books.

I've been doing some research for the last couple of days and I about to start using some of my IRA funds to invest in some individual stocks and ETFs. Have a meeting with my financial adviser on Tuesday to go over some options. Already decided to move some of my money either into a Realty Income or mortgage backed securities fund because I feel that once the banks are finished with paying the fines and all of the new regulatory requirements are administered, more loans will be issues out so it better to invest now while the market is still recovering. Now I need to decide what ETFs/stocks that I want to buy and would feel comfortable with for a long time. If anyone wants to provide and feedback or suggestions, feel free to do so.
