hmm the mayweather fight could be good money. CBS has been in my mind for it as well (Showtime). I cant speak too much on it though breh.

March madness is cyclical so thats already factored in to analyst estimates. Companies like Las Vegas Sands, MGM and Wynn are already so large that record mayweather numbers wouldnt have too much of a bottom line effect either. Results from those factors could be positive...but if the are exposed in other places that are doing poorly (Macau, China for example) then its a wash
Word, but last yea CZA saw a spike around april, I'm guessing the spring break crowd

:patrice: I feel you, but still looks too premature to go all in, I think it can still go a bit lower :takedat:

I'll straddle options contracts for WBAI, so if you're not familiar with the term, it means buy calls and puts on the stock. I can straddle a $10 call/put contract and the all in cost is about $5 per call/put contract, meaning I'd break even at $5 or $15 and lose money in between. I'll make money if it goes below $5 or above $15. I think by September, which is when the contract expires, it'll be at 0 or back up significantly after a few earnings reports.

Xiaomi's $64 Camera Burns GoPro, But Boosts Ambarella:
GoPro Inc (NASDAQ: GPRO) stock is down more than 4 percent on Monday after Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi launched a wearable action camera that offers similar features as the GoPro Hero camera.

The new Yi Action Camera retails at $64, half the price of the GoPro Hero, which is available for $130. It features a 16-megapixel camera, which can shoot 1080p video at 60 frames per second, better than the Hero (which shoots 1080p video at 30 fps, or 720p film at 60 fps). The device also has a better image sensor than the Hero, and double the storage space.

Although the Yi will first be obtainable in China only, analysts are already speculating about an international release.

Where Does Ambarella Come In?
Ambarella Inc (NASDAQ: AMBA) shares are up more than 6.6 percent on Monday following the news of the Yi launch. Why?

The new Yi camera features an integrated Ambarella A7LS high-performance camera processor. This, and other specs are featured on the Chinese Yi site.

Here are the specs, translated into English:

  • Length X width X height: 60.4mm x42mm X21.2mm
  • Body weight: 72g
  • Ambarella A7LS high-performance image processor
  • Sony 16 million pixel back-illuminated Exmor R BSI CMOS image sensor
  • HD optical glass aspherical lens / F2.8 large aperture 155 ° super wide-angle
  • ST high-performance three-axis gravity sensor
  • Professional diving depth of up to 40 meters (waterproof shell accessories sold separately)
  • Storage: Maximum support Micro SD 64G

That's more a complex strategy and limited in profit. With what I'm doing, the profit potential is limited only if the stock goes to 0, but I'd still make money. The upside is theoretically unlimited. I'm not selling any options in this scenario.

yea i read that. yawn

only thing that sucks is they may strangle the china market which might be massive but I doubt theyll trump gopro on a world scale. The marketing is a big reason of why goPro is successful in the first place.
For sure, people in the western world have shown a willingness to pay for brand names, even if they are a bit overpriced. Heck Gucci sells fukking keychains for $200 :what: They only get away with it because they're a brand name, which consumers will trample each other for the association and recognition.

exactly my point. a lot of us are slaves. Funny you mention Gucci because two years ago my rich ex girlfriend bought me a Prada wallet and I felt like i couldnt go back to them regular 30 buck wallets from target and shyt. I check Gucci's website to see prices for example and while i really wanted that Ostrich one I just couldnt justify spending 3-500 for a wallet.

When it comes to lluxury specialty goods like this people dont care about the price. It's a one time purchase after all and it is purchased mainly for things that people are extremely passionate about (experiments, traveling, skate porting, kayaking, their pets etc.) It's not about having an action camera for these people but about having a GoPro similar to how it isnt about having a good computer but about having a Mac.

Other firms have failed trying to compete with GoPro but well see how Xaomi does. Nothing wrong with a little competition :ehh:
