Well here’s the thing, I’m sure Vince wanted a monster heel on SmackDown, well besides Nakamura, would rather have Lashley be that guy than Big Cass.
We all thought that Reigns was going over and Lashley would put him down on Raw like Ryback did Cena the night after WM 29.

Lashley feuding with Bryan would be so much better than Big Cass. You could basically just re-create the impact zone storyline. Lashley was excellent wrestling X-Division dudes and Bryan is far better then Edwards and Aries
I'd totally buy heel Impact Lashley as the indy darling killer instead of big Ass. It'd be such a better scenario for all involved.
I don't think Lashley fits with those guys. That's a role more suited for Samoa Joe.

This is why I don't advocate for WWE signing people just to sign them. But if the worker is happy making full-time money and WWE doesn't care, can't really argue against it :mannyshrug:
