What about the stadium that "had" to be built
Because it maximizes revenue.. A fight of that magnitude needs to be in a venue that sits more than just 12k.. and evryone shared the same sentiments.... TR... HBO.. Showtime...Which is why plans been om effect since last year to build a new bigger arena

What part of he does not want to sign an extension do you not understand? :ld:

Once his contract is up he wants to be done with Arum. Why should that stop Arum from making the best match up for a fighter who is STILL under contract with him?

Arum can barely market Pacman anymore from a fighter's perspective signing to Goldenboy/Allah is the way to go.

If a fighter wants to be done with you, especially after you've given him millions and all the fights he wants, building him up to the status he's at, why should he go the extra mile.. Why should you put up your money and take the risk investing in a fighter who just wants to cash out and go to the competitors... Arum was still gonna make the fight of Jr didn't sign, he just wasn't gonna pay him the money he wanted unless he signed for 1 more fight.. Think about any other sport.. If you owned a team, would you pay a player a career high that wants to be traded?? Yall nikkas got shyt twisted

It's true. Go look it up

What you mean he's not forcing him. He's telling Chavez he can't get the fight with GGG unless he signs in extension. You're not supposed to do that

Nah breh... He had another option to fight GGG without signing the contract but he wasn't gonna get paid the amount of $$$ he wanted... Jr declined to take that deal..:manny:

First of all Arum didn't "give" him or any other fighter shyt, they earn their money and I'd bet my screen name Arum has made more than double than the money he has "given" To Chavez Jr. :camby:

Extra mile? Why is it going the extra mile to get a fighter the fight he wanted while he is still under contract with you?

Why should you put up your money and take the risk investing in a fighter who just wants to cash out and go to the competitors... Arum was still gonna make the fight of Jr didn't sign, he just wasn't gonna pay him the money he wanted unless he signed for 1 more fight..

That's not the way you do business and that is why more and more fighters are jumping ship. He is the promoter and he is supposed to make the best possible fights for his fighters while they are under contract not only if the resign extensions. :stopitslime:

Except players in other sports get paid annually/season, fighters get paid PER FIGHT.

You are the one who has it twisted :camby: every week a new fighter has an issue with Arum and every week you come in here defending Arum, you are about to be Skip B status. :beli:

At least in team sports players can become free agents.

Sometimes in boxing you can't even do that, you have to sue your promoter and shyt:heh:

Nope... you're wrong.. The promoter pays the fighter their purse.. The promoter puts up all the money those fighters will get paid their guarantee regardless of how well or how poorly they perform in the ring.. Its not like other sports where an athlete signs a contract for x amount of $$ we both know that in boxing the business model is quite different. Top Rank guarantees a fighters purse... TR puts up the money and takes the risk of how profitable the fight will be.. Now if they're willing to pay Jr top dollar for Jr to fight GGG.. they're doing so expecting something guaranteed in return of they're investment. Which in this case was one more fight guaranteed so Jr cant decide he just wants to sit out the remainder of the contract after he's paid top dollar. Jr has the right to do this if he choses but at the same time TR doesn't have to pay Jr the purse he wants. If Jr signed that 1 fight contract that would've been a guarantee on both ends..

Bob got the fight Jr wanted, but Jr gives the impression that he wanted that to be the last fight under TR while they still have over a year left under contract. Jr is signed under TR promotions.. All that means is they supply Jr with a purse for his fights and promote the fight.

and has Arum not made the best possible fights available?? Jr also had the option to fight GGG.. He just wasn't gonna get paid the purse he desired unless he signed for one more fight.. You believe Arum is wrong for that, but Arum's the one who's putting all the money up... Look at Floyds last card.. Floyds gonna pull in over $50 mill while every other fightee makes scraps... while Floyd pays GB $10 Million

Thats right athletes in other sports get paid annually, because its on contract for them to get paid that mutch.. And also there are conditions that have to be met for them to get paid as well.. Arum is wanting a guarantee for certain conditions to be met.. if jr isn't willing to meet those conditions he can still have the fight but not getting paid what he would have had he agreed to those conditions.. Im not here to defend Arum, but I defend his position... Most of yall shyt on Arum only because these days shytting on anything Arum is something cool to do while bypassing all logic
