I can see this game getting marked down to the mid 80s on the basis of the performance issues, like the long loading, AAing, low FPS etc.

Its only use seems to be to bait enemies into better places to fight them.
It staggers them if u shoot right before they attack

He might have over leveled either that or he went to a boss he was supposed to go to earlier
Or it could be a boss like pinwheel in dark souls where he's just weak no matter what and all u gotta do is hit him a few times

im not saying reviews are 100% accurate but im looking at metacritic for some idea of how the game plays.

Why not at least watch some streams or vids of the gameplay and judge if it's for you or not?
because you're only seeing a small part of the game, and that might include spoilers. a (good) review should give you an opinion on the whole game, without spoiling it
but ultimately these are all things consumers can use
