Quick question brehs. I just reached the checkpoint in Old Yharnam but the messengers don't sell the Hunter Chief Emblem as needed. Is there an alternative to getting it or is this just a glitch?

Worth it to level up arcane and blood? I'm asking cause I currently can't use the flamethrower:francis:

Also I'm thinking of a second weapon to pick up, spear or threaded cane?

Did you beat the Cleric Beast? That's when the Emblem shows up for sale.

As far as the weapon, you can get the Saw Spear from a spot in Central Yharnam (IIRC, it's in the sewers where you first meet Eileen. That's how I got it as I sure didn't buy it). It's very effective against beasts, including some of the bosses (Amelia, Paarl, Blood Starved Beast). Until I got the Blade of Mercy, it was my permanent secondary weapon to compliment Ludwig's Sword. I love that weapon.

I figure that the Nightmares are gonna lead to the end of the game?

You can finish the Nightmares if you want, the final boss or bosses(depends how you play it) will be after the two bosses in the Nightmare Mensis

I've solo'd every boss so far, and plan on soloing every boss going forward. I will admit to summoning Alfred a couple times during the Blood Starved Beast. Dying to the poison was pissing me off, but we both died every time I summoned him, and I ended up beating him by myself.

Really got into the Old Hunter's DLC today....where the fukk do I begin :wow:

A nikka was getting those Central Yharnam vibes from when I first started playing this game. :francis: These new hunters aint fukkin playin brehs. Make matters worse, they respawn just like every other enemy so you really can't afford to slack off. :sadcam: There's a new Executioner-type (giant with the axe) enemy that now has a tentacle grab attack and parry tells that are hard to detect. :martin: I discovered this dude coming out of what looks like the Grand Cathedral door and inside is a beast that looks like it's on fire but all it had was an eye item for me. :lupe: Left of this path are some of the old Yharnam men on steroids standing behind gatling guns that will turn you to swiss cheese in you're not fast enough. :snoop: Luckily they're dumb enough to step off the circle that activates the guns when you throw a pebble at them. :mjlol:Down this path is another hunter with what they call a "Boom Hammer"....dude caught me lacking but I got my echoes back. :martin: Just below this area though is a lake of blood that's literally filled with those blood sucking tick enemies from Cainhurst and now they have this blood spitting attack that does poison. :merchant: I thought I was fukked until I saw a path leading up to a bridge that lead to a shortcut to the first lamp. :whew: I still had to go down there but it had a cave leading to a new sewer area. Yet another hunter is waiting and this time, he's surrounded by crows that will peck at you while he swings away with what looks like a new Threaded Cane. :beli: Took about 3 minutes of luring birds to get past this idiot to climb up a ladder. To the left side, there was this little patch of grass that had an item inside of it and I should've known better than to think it was that easy. :snoop: Out jumps this new hunter that does the most damage to me since I've been here. 3-4 hits and I'm dead. :pacspit: I ran right back to that motherfukker and parried him twice for my souls back. :birdman: The fun doesn't stop there though, on the main path is another ladder leading down to another blood lake that has an Executioner-type enemy with a cannon that has a very large blast radius. :merchant: Believe it or not, it actually didn't do all that much damage. :ehh: Didn't stop dude from just saying "fukk it" and just hitting me with the cannon straight up though. :skip: Past him is a church that FINALLY has a new lamp in it :blessed: Left of this church though...the first boss of the DLC for me, which is Ludwig. :francis: This motherfukker made me feel like a complete newcomer to the game brehs. :mjcry: Took me about 5 tries before I learned to dodge to the left and I almost got him down the half life....but he killed me. :snoop: Thing just does too much fukking damage. :why: I give it about 4 more tries before I just summon the NPC Valtr for help and we both take him down. :yeshrug: I lit the lamp, cashed in my echoes and levelled up Arcane one more point.

I came back and I didn't even realize the head was still alive and could talk to you. :merchant: It sounds like he went completely insane so I just put him out of his misery and got a new moonlight blade I think it was called. There's a path that lead up to a dark hallway with a stronger version of the church servant with the staff and one of those wheelchair dudes with a cannon (I call him cripple cannon :mjlol:). This hallway lead up to a room with 6 beds, a large arena space, and 3 rats with eyes that glow in the dark. :hamster: At the end of the hallway, there's this woman that looks like a nun praying at an alter, so I figured she'd be a new NPC to talk to. Well apparently this heffa done sinned because she got up and attacked me outright. :francis: To make matters worse, there's another broad that I couldn't see just chilling in the cut for backup while the nun is throwing some godamn hadokens at me! :mindblown: These broads aint no joke either...both hit hard and had a lot of health. :sadcam: I actually had to cheese the fight by drawing them over to the entrance where what looks like a tomb was hiding the pathway before and just having the nun on one side of it while I take care of the other one with a big ass blade. Took me a while but I killed her and took the nun out with relative ease once I actually got close. Told that broad to save it for next Tuesday. :camby: That alter she was praying at was actually an elevator that needed the item I got way back at the beginning of the area. Now I'm at where they call the Research Hall. :lupe:

Just finished up in Cainhurst Castle. Got to Logarius, and he fukked me up a couple of times. Then I switched from the Sword to the Blade of Mercy. Lit his ass up, then he starts flying around, and I had him down to a sliver of energy, got greedy, and he killed me. SMH. I realized a bit too late that the Sword is the best option for that 2nd phase, as he leaves himself open for charge attacks. Took me 3 more tries before I finally got him.
