OMG this show is horrific. It is an education on avg black peoples for white liberals. This shyt is a slap in the face to black people. Waste of resources.

rashida Jones sucks acting as a black mother.

Kenya is a horrible actor, he has a whiny voice and no screen presence. And him saying dude all the time is cringe.

these are the whitest black people I have ever seen. Why is dude surrounded by whites complaining about it like he doesn’t have the power to change that.

why does this fool have a white assistant instead of a black one?

so whats yall thoughts on this? i need to get somewhere so I can watch it.
I like it. It's unrealistic to the average middle income family but realistic to the upper income families as far as the dialogue. It's kind of cut and dry humor like a black version of modern family and Seinfeld. You can tell that was his influence behind this. I have know idea why Twitter is tearing it apart.

Kenya shouldn’t play himself, idc if he knows the story best.

The dialogue and forcing slang throws me off, “my boy,” the constant history lessons :comeon:
I think that's his real personality. There's a lot of outta touch old dudes that work in Hollywood but know how to create gold.

In Dallas, From Cleveland
2 episodes in and yeah it's an interesting show and I will continue to watch but.....

Kenya Burris is not a good actor at all and kind of messes up the show for me. If they would have gotten a better actor it would have made this show alot better.

2. This show just feels like another blackish. What's different? Pro black man marries mixed woman has a bunch of mixed kids and tries to "keep it real" while living a rich black lifestyle....

Its basically like a Junior Varsity version on Blackish is what I got from the first 2 episodes

I guess I get it because I use to intern for the record label, just interacting with celebrities and that's how these cats act irl.

The episode with TP was pretty good.

I read some of the comments in this thread, but I actually dig the history they throw into the show. You hotep ass cats who claim to know everything about black history on the internet don't really realize how little of our history is put into shows. It's not a black show for white people. It's a show that talks about our history. I like that part of it. While you folks on the internet know what Juneteeth is there are a ton of other black folks that found out what that actually is because of this show because they don't teach that shyt in schools AT ALL....and you see how parents react now to homeschooling their kids. Most black households talk about HOW white people see us, but the majority of us don't know our actual history. When the bombing of black wall street got shown on Watchmen I knew black people who thought that was made up.

Best episode so far is #5
Let's not forget this show is really a more adamant portrayal of what he wants to be seen as a black man working in entertainment. A. Anderson in Blackish is a more toned-down version.
It's like this is what he couldn't ultimately portray on Blackish because...D̶i̶s̶n̶e̶y̶ Slavery (wassup with that lazy gimmick. Are all episodes really titled like that?)
So I kinda understand why he plays himself. I bet he would have his real kids play if they could and were photogenic enough. Hes certainly not a natural but it doesn't feel too forced so it's bearable.
I still feel he's doing an extreme caricature of himself with sports apparel and brand porn...well I hope
Will resume today with episode 6
