I almost didn't make it through episode 1. shyt was pretty hard to get through, but it got alot better after that. I fukks with it now.

It's a looser & rawer version of blackish with worse acting, but the raw style has its appeal. Blackish is alot more polished & better all around, but this show may find it's own footing & lane.

I wasn't gonna watch, but this thread mae me give it a shot.

I loved it.

I love Blackish too, but both can exist imo.

Dudes soooo whiney, n it just kills me cuz I get it.
I didn't think I'd like Rashida, cuz I know her as "white lady generic" but she worked as a foil to him.

The sensitive son had me rolling, especially when his younger brother couldn't believe he was his elder.

Bruh, the scene with the crip cousin talking about Juwanna Mann blew my mind....also because i SWEAR i was just thinking of Miguel Nunez Jr the other day saying "where the fukk is this guy? what happened?"

Also, the scene where Kenya reenacts  with his sons........hooooly shyt. :russ:

And i love Rashida Jones in everything, and she was great in this...nice to see her in a diff role. I didn't realize until looking him up that Kenya actually has 6 kids and a mixed wife/ex-wife that could be played by Rashida.

Got 2 episodes to go...gonna watch tonight.

I think blackaf is ok. It made me appreciate blackish even more. Blackaf is like a amped up version of blackish with cursing. A lot of time it seem like the OD with the cursing just because they can. The message part of the show is the same as blackish which make me wonder beside Kapernick what else couldn't Kenya cover on blackish. Blackaf storyline move at a much faster pace than blackish. The couple's martial problems didn't get covered until Season 4 of blackish.

Overall I like the show but I like blackish and the cast in blackish better.

Just finished watching this a second time because i liked the writing so much, and i wanted to watch with my daughter. She just finished 6th grade and it might've been a little much here n there, but she definitely enjoyed it....and really, it is a family show.

I was wondering when a renewal would come. I'm halfway through the season, will probably finish by the weekend.

Just finished watching this, thought it was cool.

At first Kenya's acting stood out, but it grew on me over the course of the season. Him constantly being exasperated by his family was :mjlol:and he has the funniest lines clowning on them. Him and Rashida pretty much carried the show for me. Kenya calling everyone dude :mjlol:

The kids were :ld: for the most part. Diane/Junior on Blackish alone are funnier than all 6 of the kids on this show.

Also felt like the workplace dynamic on Blackish is better, although Broadway was jokes.

I think they can ditch the whole documentary format and come up with something else for Season 2.
