It is beyond heartbreaking tobwatch helplessly your men bevtaken down like crazed animals. My first love, Olajide Okutuga, was killed by police outside a mall in Maryland. He was the strongest, most resilient man I have ever known. He was also very very angry. He lived with so much hatred towards white oppressors and could not live knowing

Yeah it's all love at the end of the day regardless, I mean we truly are all we got, we don't have to hate other groups but we need to understand they have their own people interest at heart and thus we need to be the same.

Thats what I'm saying breh. We need much more than hugs. We need action and results and to mobilize in real life. Not this internet talk shyt....this is just the beginning we need to be active in the real world.

Breh, small gestures like this build bridges and solidarity among a group that has been told we should hate ourselves and each other.

Being told and shown that we value each other is far more powerful than you're giving credit especially when one of the biggest issues we have is a lack of overall unity as a people.

Women are starting gofundmes for Alton and Philando's families, marching in protests, speaking out in the media, starting organizations like BLM and trying to make a difference. We are hurting too and doing what we can do for our fathers, brothers, husbands, and sons, but we feel helpless. I understand this woman's desire to reach out and hug the black men of her community. She just wants to remind them that we're in this together and that they are loved.

shyt is hard. Just don't forget that for every black man who's fallen, there's a black woman who lost someone she loved dearly.
