It causes a lot of problems though, I look 100% Habesha, and my whole life I've never claimed it. I've always just said I'm black though (or African American). But for her, to me, she's obviously dougla, but claiming that makes people think she's self hating or wanting to seem exotic because black people come in different shades and colors. I'm very familiar with dougla and coolies, they usually just say they're Trini or Guyanese or whatever unless you know how desis came over the Carribean.

outta my face with that crap. I'm part Creole French among other things and I'm a dark skinned black man. The rest of my siblings are brown to light. Some of my brothers get mistaken as being Dominican.

I go on a case by case basis. 90% of the time when yall coli nikkas get mad at a chick claiming mixed..i look at the chick and can easily see shes mixed..maybe its because i live in toronto and see so many nationalities and mixtures that its like second nature to me...bit it is what it is...outside of the coli ive seen girls that didnt look mixed and she claims mixed..and never once did i get mad or feel she was ashamed to be black...just because someone doesnt look mixed doesnt mean she isnt.
Case and point i used to fuk with this dark skin chick with full lips and nappy hair...she told me she was mixed and i was like what? Then she showed me her parents...her dad is full indian breh..and her mom isnt even that dark..so because she looks fully black is she suppose to forget her father exists and say shes black?
Sometimes your genetics can skip generations..someone on her mothers side was obviously dark..and maybe even on her fathers side too

True, I guess some people get anxious anytime a mixed person acknowledge their mother/father is a non black person because they perceive it as a person is trying to distance themselves from the Black part of themselves, but I don't think she is doing that here she acknowledges both sides
As for the nationalities that's a Canadian thing, race is just assume for most nationalities

I don't see the big deal tbh. It seems like she loved white men, well preferred them over black men and when she realized that she was fantasized about, she got offended and hated herself. Not all white men are like that, but I'd figure depending on the place that you're going to, you'll meet a few of them and by the way she carries herself through text it seems as if she's a bougie insecure ass bytch who stays as far away from black people as possible.
