Trust, as someone who’s worked at that court and sat in on many jury selections, Black folks just don’t show or when they do, look for every reason to get out of it. I could tell which ones weren’t there to get selected (regardless of race).

We have small influence in this forum. We need to encourage jury participation.

I hate that. It's an immature way of thinking that our community has. Sitting on a jury is one of the ways we get justice for our ppl. We're always eager to do things that don't really matter in the grand scheme of things and we don't do the things that could really make a difference.

The easiest form of civic duty outside of voting. They look at how much they’re compensated per day and chuck up the deuces. I had to drive a family member to her appointment for jury selection cause she did not want to participate. Had to damn near threaten her. Lucky for her, the lawyers settled the case before it went before the jury.

Yes in principle I agree, we have white people who are on a "black forum" such as this, love hip hop, etc.. But when you start talking to them about social issues related to black people's struggles and more times than not the shades of grey will form. Like so many white women will put a black dikk in their mouth and still get on a jury and get on code with other white people so yes we need more black people exercise their right and get on these jury's more.

But the other side is a lot of the judges are talking over and many defendants are opting for bench trials and some of the judges are going wild like the one in the rittienhouse trial. Also even in this Atatiana case, the old judge was removed from the case and this new judge is very passive aggressive and defiant with the prosecution. Other cases like the Amber Guyger trial with that judge and that circus.

Voting matters, especially locally with crooked public officials.

I agree with most of what you said. I've mentioned voting in the Botham Jean case, Ahmaud Arbery case and the George Floyd case.

Apparently I'm not American so I don't have a say so in these matters.

Even if Black jurors were in the jury pool the defense would have just found a way to keep them off the jury. Since it is a cop being tried you can pretty much guess about the prosecutors.

I will also add just another scary ass cop who is afraid of his own shadow and was probably never in a fight his whole life. He probably only joined the police force to try to feel tough. Once under a minimal amount of pressure where an average persn's common sense would kick in, his cowardice and fear took over instead. His cowardice was likely greatly heightened when he saw a brown face appear, which is a color that his profession holds out as the source of all evil and any enemy of the people.
