So why did Jeff Fisher not wanna play Vince Young his second season again?
This guy's defenses give up 30+ pts like it's their jobLMAO This muthafucca said this about a league where Buddy Ryan's two sons still coach and underachieve...
Same reason the Raiders moved on from JaMarcus Russell, same reason the Eagles never stayed with Vince. He was probably the best college QB of all-time but in the pros, he was just another Doug Flutie.
Maybe he just didn't like him as a qb? And it seems he was accurate on that opinion
I guess you missed my point - if he goes 8-8 with the "unpopular" black QB and misses the playoffs he puts himself at more risk of losing his job then if he sticks with the more "likable" white QB and goes 6-10. The narratives will say that the black QB stifled their ability to make the playoffs or that the white QB "needs more time" or didn't have enough help. Since it's not just about wins and losses, he will probably choose option 2 and keep his job and that's exactly what these statistics convey.
Mike Tomlin is the most overrated coach probably since Buddy Ryan.
1. The Raiders moved on from JaMarcus Russell to damn ANDREW WALTER. On purpose.
2. Doug Flutie still got to start in the NFL for quite a lot longer than other black QBs mentioned in this thread.
3. Vince Young never played for the Eagles.
Word? After Vince almost got that godawful team to the playoffs?
He gets benched for Kerry Collins?
Fucc outta here...
Jeff Fisher says Hi
Here's the best I can do to break this down.....
There's a very high turnover rate of QBs in the league (and really all positions with a 3.5 year career average). Of all 32 starting QBs, at any given time there are only 5-8 elite ones. The smaller (but growing) number of black starting QBs combined with the innate high turnover of the position will in turn create a higher proportion of black QBs being benched, than non-black QBs. You don't even need to do a big fact check to understand this point.
This is the most clear way I can describe it, and there's nothing diabolic about it. I hope nobody puts aside their dreams of being an NFL quarterback due to this hack economists biased report.
